Lizotte and Grundstrom just make too much for what they bring. As a matter of fact I don’t like anyone on the 4th line for the amount they make.
If Lewis is there, he's at the minimum, so can't go any lower. His signing might end up being a good piece of business.Lizotte and Grundstrom just make too much for what they bring. As a matter of fact I don’t like anyone on the 4th line for the amount they make.
The Kings absolutely needed a right shot defensive winger. Ideally you'd want one who can bring some physicality and isn't 36 years old, but beggers can't be choosers.Outside of Lewis signing for the bare minimum it really made no sense. Unless Rob and co really thought none of our prospects could beat out a 40 year old 4th liner. His PK ability is blown out of proportion, he is NOT physical and to this day still has stone hands.
Running 20 instead of 21 puts the team at a fairly significant risk for dressing 19 guys on game day due to last minute injury/illness. I don’t particularly care for that tactic.20-man opening night roster:
Byfield-Kopitar-Kempe
Moore-PLD-Arvidsson
Fiala-Danault-Laferriere
Grundstrom-Lizotte-Lewis
Anderson-Doughty
Gavrikov-Roy
Englund-Clarke
Copely
Talbot
Cap Space: 1M
First Callup Options: Turcotte, Kaliyev, Spence, Moverare
Stuck in the AHL: JAD, Bjornfot, Thomas
Just trade Kaliyev at this point if you want him starting in the AHL.20-man opening night roster:

Added a bunch of names. Every team has at least two guys who can throw. Basically, Kings are softest team in NHL.
Penguins and Devils close 2nd but they have Acari and Brendan Smith.
There is a reason why Hodson and Doty are playing and Kings signed Englund. Because we are SOFT.
no way i'm hanging around if i'm him and they do me like thatJust trade Kaliyev at this point if you want him starting in the AHL.
On road trips I think it will be 21.Running 20 instead of 21 puts the team at a fairly significant risk for dressing 19 guys on game day due to last minute injury/illness. I don’t particularly care for that tactic.
I don't think it's a mediocre product. But we'll see. It’s utterly depressing when you see how tight against the cap Blake has this roster, versus the incredibly mediocre on-ice product that results from such expenditure. Bleh.
If Laf passes him on the depth chart, I could see that happening.Just trade Kaliyev at this point if you want him starting in the AHL.

It’s the time of year where people on every home board are convinced they are going to lose their guys to waivers, but a very small percentage of players are claime, because teams usually prefer to stick with what they have.
There are going to be dozens of guys of similar caliber to JAD, Thomas and Bjornfot on waivers here in the next little bit.
In that Maclellan interview the other day he said Kaliyev put in the work this offseason and has earned the spot next to Fiala and Dubois. His leash for players like Kaliyev is very short so well see how long it lasts. But at least hes going to get a look and some time to stick.I hate it myself but the writing is on the wall
I'd rather have him getting big AHL minutes and puck touches than being stuck around the fringes of the roster wasting away
The Kings have no idea what the f*** to do with this kid so I'm already mentally preparing myself to see him be a multiple time 30 goal scorer elsewhere
i think he was one of the biggest camp standouts, i'm not sure there's a spot for him regardlessHow has Laferriere played in camp?
He can make the team?
