Tyler Madden just got sent back down?

I think he’s still up based on the LAK Insider list. A surprise for me that one. Turcotte and Laf make sense so I guess a third body gives them a complete line to work with which sounds a bit harsh, I know.

So the question is between Copley and Riitch...Do the Kings waive Copley and save some cap room and don't risk losing Riitch on waivers.

Agree with all this. We know Lee had surgery from his first game injury, Madden took a hard hit last game.

There's been no official announcement I'm just making an educated guess based on the lists released and the fact that he got hit hard in San Diego.

Bjornfot is done - he looks horrible and there is a quote from TM saying "vanilla won't work with him anymore."

Also, stupid of the Kings to keep either Turc or Laffy as the 13th forward when they can be playing 1st line minutes in Ontario.

Keep JAD as the 13th OR sign a player like Comtois or Ritchie.

I don’t think we can bury the entirety of Copley’s salary in the minors. This year, it’s league minimum ($775,000) plus $375,000 that can be buried per contract. Sending Talbot to Ontario still results in a $350,000 hit to our available cap space.

After having a clear picture on exactly how horrible our cap situation is, it makes it very glaring and obvious how bad signing Trevor Moore for 20 years at over 4M AAV was.

The Kings are going to win games for the same reasons they won games last year. Gonna lose them for the same reasons too. The new face isn't going to change either of those much and there isn't a lot of reason to believe that the spirit of the team will be improved. Its a top-heavy B+ roster where that top just isn't as good as the best players of the teams likely above them.

We know what to expect from the Kings. Their playoff fortunes this year should depend on how well Seattle, Vancouver and maybe Calgary do around them. Kings should be favored to be third in the division but a steady Seattle an improbable run from one of the Canadian teams would be their harm's way.

It's way over, by over $1M.

Rittich over Copley saves cap, but only around $275K.

To get under and carry 22 it would have to be something like this:

That's about $80K under, if capfriendly's tool is correct.

I'd actually roll 21 players with that same defensive core to give some flexibility. It's not like the Kings couldn't roll 7D and have some take shifts on the 4th in an emergency. Clarke would probably score.
