As @nexttothemoon pointed out, running 11-7 and a shorthanded roster all season will be very risky. It could cost them in the standings, IMO. Best to dump a contract and clear some cap for some flexibility. I think it will be either Foegele, or Pulju. Foegele might actually have more value now with JPs mostly impotent showing at preseason.

So looks like who's left in camp: (28 people) but 2 injuries (Benson and Deharnais)

McDavid-Kane-Yamamoto
Draisaitl-Hyman-Holloway
Nuge-Mcleod-Puljujarvi
Shore-Ryan-Foegele
Malone-Janmark-Benson-Hamblin

Nurse-Ceci
Bouchard-Kulak
Barrie-Niemelainen
Samorukov-Broberg
Murray-Deharnais

Campbell
Skinner

Edit: technically Lavoie, Smith, and Savoie too?

Is demers still around?

Kept off the ice as in trade talks maybe? Otherwise why so vague?
Thats what I am thinking. Samorukov isn't ready for us but some team may want a chance on him. Better than losing him on waivers. Foegele might have some value.

Maybe Foegele, Samorukov, 1st, 2nd for Kane @ 25% Chicago gets the picks and Samorukov, Arionza gets Foegele and maybe like a 4th or something who knows lol
Kane - McDavid - Kane
Holloway - Draisaitl - Hyman
Yamamoto - Nuge - Puljujarvi
Benson - McLeod - Shore

Ps: Not going to happen but come on! lol

I don't think it's that risky.

If you use last season as an example, that just means 20 or so less games of guys like Turris. You'd probably be better off playing short haha.

They have better depth than before.

My main concern is if you have a couple of players go down in one game, you're playing without a complete roster until they go on LTIR (if they even can)

I don't know if the depth is all that much better. At least on the fourth line. Benson(when he's healthy again) and Malone are legit possibilities down there right now. They don't really even have a #4RW in the whole organization.

Katz will definitely have to open up the checkbook a bit more and get emergency calls on private flights ASAP.

Sounds like just maintenance for Leon. But this is why I'm not a fan of him or McDavid playing in preseason as he probably nicked something. I wonder if he plays tomorrow. Truthfully, it's probably better for him to sit out until opening night even if it's very minor.

Personal day is not a maintenance day. That means something came up in his personal life where he missed practice. Maybe his dog had to go to the vet. Maybe his girlfriend is sick who knows but I’m not sure why you would jump to that conclusion.

How is a personal day a maintenance day?

I don't know. Maybe I misread it. Thought one of the tweets said "maintenance."

I misread it. My bad. In any event, it's good to know he's not injured. Hope everything's OK with his personal life.

Can’t recall exactly when in his last game but it looked like he was feeling a little pain in his ankle or knee. Wouldn’t surprise me if he’s still injured and didn’t fully heal up.

I really hope that’s not the case, and if it is I wonder if maybe he should have got surgery after the playoffs.

Hopefully he’s totally fine and just needed a personal day.

Edit: never mind, sounds like he’s not injured but I still wonder, he did look to be in pain.

Samo and Foegele off the ice make me suspect Samo is going on waivers and Foegele is being shopped.

Yeah random assumptions are what lead to random crap like the Nurse punched Draisaitl rumor.

Not surprising but I don’t want him to get claimed.
I don't think he will, there are enough of those guys out there, Kinkade is one on waivers as well

I love every inch of this, he's so focused and thorough, but supports and encourages the players.

Like, honestly, it's just a pleasure to listen to him talk about what they have to do.

Hey guys, curious question I've always been intrigued by Jesse P. He looked so dominant around his draft year. Admittedly my question has fantasy implications. He's only 24. Think he still has a shot to lock down top line or become what we all projected to be?? Would appreciate insights.
