Apparently kreider is still with the whale, and was seen around the XL Center with a boot on his foot. He was hit in the foot with a shot a few days ago.

Do not like these changes for Rupp and Stralman. Annoying numbers now for both. Just doesn't fit for me.

Much less annoying than Fedotenko taking Christensen's 26 while he was still on the team, though.

Amazingly, appears NHL 13 had the scoop on this cause I noticed yesterday both numbers had changed and wondered the reason behind it.

Strålman wore #6 for most of his career, so he probably just wanted it back.

not much risk if you could get him in on a tryout...

but anyone know why huselius only played 5 games in the KHL during the lockout? (assuming hockeydb is updated). 2g, 3p in 5 games looks good but given his injury history only playing 5 games makes me wonder

Huselius has suffered from an hip injury but did return to hockey the other week. Sadly, the injury reoccured. According to Swedish Sportbladet he's made the decision to retire from hockey. Sad news for an old fan of his skills..

no JT Miller on training camp roster.

i love that Michael Haley is on the roster.... i think he has to go through waivers if he gets sent down...

The Rangers training camp roster is expected to look something like:

Goalie: Henrik Lundqvist, Martin Biron

Defense: Marc Staal, Dan Girardi, Ryan McDonagh, Michael Del Zotto, Anton Stralman, Stu Bickel, Steve Eminger, Matt Gilroy.

Offense: Rick Nash, Brad Richards, Marian Gaborik, Ryan Callahan, Arron Asham, Brian Boyle, Carl Hagelin, Jeff Halpern, Taylor Pyatt, Mike Rupp, Derek Stepan, Chris Kreider, Michael Haley, Marek Hrivik, Chad Kolarik.

i dont understand why didnt they invite Miller to camp.. i know its a short camp but he can learn a thing or two from some of the Rangers.. i dont like this at all.

I'd agree if it was a full camp, but I don't think this is going to be an instructional period. It's going to be to try and get in game shape and get some chemistry. Miller just finished up at the WJC and is probably full of confidence. Let him to back to CT and progress his game. No reason to call him up for 5 days just to send him right back down again.

You have to believe Gilroy goes back leaving you 7 defensemen. I'd also say that Hrivik and Kolarik go down leaving you 13 forwards. They could send Haley down as well which would leave Bickel as your extra D and forward and save a bit of cap room. However, I think the Rangers may carry the extra bodies with the condensed schedule after the long layoff.

With players like Haley, Kolarik, Hrivik and Kreider already fighting for (1) spot it doesn't make sense to pull up any more players. That is the cream of the crop as of now. Miller is still very young.

Maybe because we have 4 centers on the roster already? Maybe because they don't think he's ready? Maybe they'd rather have him getting bigger minutes in Hartford? Not sure why you think it's a big deal. It's a short camp, they're in the middle of the AHL season, and he's coming off of a long stint at the WJC. No reason to get bent out of shape.

Hes 19 years old and needs more time to develop.

This is a short camp with a team expected to contend for the Stanley Cup without Miller.

It seems pretty cut and dry.

It doesn't say anything that makes me believe Miller will not be at camp. He's not in the list "expected" to be at camp, but there's no source suggesting he won't.

Bob McKenzie says Miller is a consideration for the Rangers.

Why? THis is a very short camp. This is not going to be a camp where you teach some young guys new tricks. They need to limit this camp to players who can and will make the team in order to start getting them ready for a QUICKLY approaching season.

Bringing up Miller, the Rangers feel, would be a waste of time since they want him in the AHL. Same with McIlrath. Bringing them up would just waste more time for the team to properly gel.

So why was Hrivik on the training camp roster? Do the Rangers feel he is that ready??? Another player that is his first full year pro...

That's also not an official roster...wouldn't surprise me if that's just some writers making up what they think the roster will be
