Dewar from a quick scan looks like a Gregor level forward. He excels more in the defensive end and on the PK which would give him a better chance to claim a spot in the lineup. He's depth. A name you can add to the group of Reaves, Holmberg and Gregor that will be in contention for a 4th line role.

He might serve as a nice physical compliment on a line with Kampf - Jarnkrok and then fill a role on PK unit #2.

The improvements need to come in the summer
I hope your right but im having a hard time not thinking that what we will actually do is re-up marner to 12+ re-up tavares 3x6 re-up bert 3x3.5 and re-up domi3x3 and if we cant find another dman re-up brodie and then be told lessons have been learned.

You too can see the future I see

So Boston felt Peeke was needed to improve for the playoffs, and got him for a song.

We trade 3 picks for 2 UFA trees who don’t address any of our most important needs.

Boston is stronger defensively than us and true contenders, and they felt the need to add Peeke.

Guess who’s management team’s acumen I rate more highly between ours and theirs?

Boston also spent a ton of assets last year and got bounced in round 1. This current regime has not won a Stanley Cup. Why do we hold them in such high regard?

Wonder what happens with Martin Jones? I could see Avalanche snagging him if he goes on the waiver wire.

I would have done that Subban trade (for futures) to get a vet goalie to ride with Hildeby in the event Jones is waived/snagged..

Would have preferred to just stand pat than trade mid round picks for depth pieces on a team that has no shot against Boston or Florida
I like the deals we've made but I hope that if they workout and they mesh well we actually re-sign them and not let them walk in FA, like Schenn did.

That's been the biggest difference with us vs Tampa, Boston, Vegas etc. They use their assets but kept the players longterm - Lindholm, Peeke, Eichel, Barbashev, Hagel, Jeannot etc etc.

At least we dont have to waste time watching this slow motion train wreck. Bruins are going to have a field day against our D.

Treliving doesn’t believe in this core. Hopefully he’ll have the authority to try and change it.
I don’t think it’s that he doesn’t believe in this core but this draft is defense heavy. People keep crying about not having a top pair dman. You gotta draft and develop one. I think he’s trying to give the core more years by not completely draining them of our top picks and prospects.

We will need Minten and Cowan and this years first rounder

Vegas must have sent some salary back to San Jose. Otherwise, they will have some interesting off-season decisions to make.
Im thinking they let Marchessault walk? He is gonna be a ufa this year and 34 next dec. Theres 5 milly....

pretty sure that waiver pickups after the trade deadline arent eligible to play until next season.

He just signed Nylander to a huge contract..
He would’ve done more like the other top teams did if he thought they were good enough to challenge for a cup. But it sounds like you do. Good luck with that.
