Would have preferred to just stand pat than trade mid round picks for depth pieces on a team that has no shot against Boston or Florida

I don't mind the moves. Boosh is a bit of a weird one but I like Edmunson and this Connor kid seems like he'll make a decent 4th liner. No 1sts or guys like Robertson or Lilly out the door though, which is very good IMO. Sometimes the best moves are the ones you don't make.

I wouldn’t say “no shot” Panthers had “no shot” last year either. But I agree, I would just done nothing. Although, a monkey could have just done nothing also. Don’t need a GM for that.

No team is unbeatable, just ask the Panthers last year or the Habs a few years ago. I understand that this team is just a bunch of regular season heroes but gotta have some form of optimism they can finally do it. It is what it is.

I don't think it's fair to expect the manager of this team to have the same loser mentality.

The prices were cheap especially for those with cap space. I felt like not a lot of 1st rounders in '24 were moved? For a draft people were saying wasn't great felt like a lot of 25-26 picks.

One thing that is obvious it that the price of forwards is a lot cheaper than the price of dman.

Edmundsun and Lyubushkin are in the same ball park valuewise as Toffoli, Tarasenko, Mantha.. Imagine if Marner and Nylander's dollars were spent on D and we were adding similar players for draft picks easily.

Instead we have the most overpaid wingers in the league and have to trade draft capital for 7th dmen.

Only deal that happened that I wouldve been happy if it was the Leafs instead was the Hertl deal. But idk how the Leafs wouldve made that salary work

I mean, he kind of halfway did lol.

Those additions aren't going to make a difference in a 7 game seriesm

We're better suited with depth now than we were? Instead of Lagesson and Lajoie, it's Edmundson and Lyubushkin. Instead of Steeves it's Dewar. But I agree, they definitely aren't great adds.

I agree but to me, the guy behind he bench inspires very little confidence that the team can go all the way.

Having said that, maybe it's a good thing that Treliving didn't swing for the fences.
