LOL dude ....did Masai blatantly tell the media straight up that he WASN'T going to trade DD? As far as I know, no. However, that is what Dubas, Shanny and Keefe all STRESSED yesterday. That the "core four" will all return in 21-22. If you think Marner is still going to be traded after yesterdays press conferences, you are a tin foiled hat conspiracy theorist lol.

I agree that the cap should be more logically spread out, however, it's abundantly clear that the Leafs management are NOT looking down that avenue right now. I for one am excited for how they try to make this work !

What is true today can be false in a week.

If Columbus says Willy for Seth Jones who says no?

Leafs because jones is not signed long term and his long term contract will be more than william's. If it's a tightrope to fit the big four forwards, then it will be downright impossible to manage the cap with seth's additional contract.

If we don't sign Rielly and Hyman trade kerfoot

Olesiak 2.5 mil
Savard David 3
Wennberg 4.5 mil
Spezza .9 mil
Galcheniak 1.5 mil
Bogo 1.2 mil
Perry 1.3 mil

Wrong guy.
Not really interested in getting rid of the only guy who can score in the playoffs.
And makes 7 vs. 11.
It’s funny how a player only has to score in one series in 4 years and he gets labelled the only guy who can score in the play offs.

As if he didn’t suck every other year.

Adding players with grit/experience around the core still doesn't motivate Matthews and Marner into producing. All it does is absolve them from the 50/50 battles it takes to recover the puck. Instead they stand around waiting for the pass (matthews) or become a pass only perimeter player (marner) who moves the puck at first sign of a hit coming.

Playoffs to date and experience:

Tavares 37 games - 15 goals (11 mil)
Matthews 32 games - 13 goals (11 mil)
Nylander 32 games - 10 goals (7 mil)
Marner 32 games - 5 goals (11 mil)

See an issue. Little playoff experience for so much money and a core lacking intensity spells losing over and over. Someone else is doing some major more suckage every year.

It also gives the fans of management something to focus your anger on instead of where it belongs anyone with half a brain and see what they’re doing it again

The Mapleleaf management put the S in stupid I guess they figure they can keep pulling the wool over everyone’s eyes what a sad state this team is in they try to use excuses like Kyle listen to the fans if he is listening to the fans shit or get off the pot

Would Jones even come to Toronto, or any Canadian team really? he has been openly a pretty big QAnon supporter and Trumper, seems like he probably wouldn't want to come to the Socialist hellscape that is Canada.

With players this age you want positive progress.

After last years debacle I think many expected more urgency and intensity from the top players when the games started to matter... Nylander is one of the few players that made positive progress in that regard.

I don’t want to trade William Nylander, I want more players to follow him. He isn’t scared of the moment.

Not every member of the core can be rough and tumble but you still have to produce if you’re not. Produce and not cost the other way.
But the entire core can’t be like that, unable to engage, passive, lack intensity or killer instinct as we’ve heard.

Come playoff time they all need a killer instinct.
Most goals are from topping the puck and in close.
They all need to be willing to go to the net and get there ode bloody.
Engvall Mik and Galchenyuk should be there all the time.

Welp. Goodbye Zack. Go get that bag.

(I wouldn’t put much stock into the Seravelli report. He even says it’s a rumour that he doesn’t know if there’s any truth for it.)

However, I believe the CJ report. 6M for Hyman as a UFA is realistic for him. Not from us, but some team will do it. They have the Josh Anderson comparable right there, and Hyman is 4x the player Anderson is

Dubas built a culture of greed by unloading the brinks truck for Matthews and Marner, so why shouldn't we expect Hyman to ask for more money? He works his a55 off, plays in all conditions and situation.

Oh man now Hyman is asking for 6M. Holy crap this entire organization management down to the players has greedy selfish bastards

I thought Hyman and rielly would take nice discount deals but that's clearly not happening.

Hyman should've gotten 5 years 3.5 or 4 years 4 like Adam Lowry

Rielly should get 8 years 6.5

Don't see either of them being on the team for to much longer.

Next season looks like it's gonna be a tough one

Ya Unfortunately we can't afford Zach at that price. But if thats the going rate for Josh Anderson than there is no reason why zach should want anything less

NHL is weird. Craig Smith get $3M, but the far inferior player Anderson gets $5M.

I don’t blame them. Why should any of them take a discount.
Especially Rielly. I wouldn’t take anything less than 7 if I was him. Not watching what’s going on.
