Nick Bjugstad for 3C is intriguing

You would need another really good center on that line, and he was really bad last year. He is also not super physical for his size, has had injury issues his entire career, and would need skill guys on his line. He wouldn't be bad as a top 6 RW option with our Big 4, but he'd need to come very cheap on a one year reclamation deal. We also don't need top 6 RW's.

sour grape all around I see. If the ultimate goal is winning the cup then he's ahead in my book.

Is that right?

Certainly not helping the Habs very much.

Only 4 points. Has constantly lost board battles throughout the playoffs. He’s hardly even that noticeable in terms of hits he throws. He’s unable to generate any sort of offense.

People think Josh Anderson is what Blake Coleman actually is.

I get it, instead of critiquing the Shortcomings of Leaf players the new discussion is to slag other team’s players regardless of them achieving more success. Change the narrative, change the story……..

All everyone has been doing is critiquing the team. What does that have anything to do with Josh Anderson being a bad player on a horrible contract?

You want to prop up a player that this Leafs team needs more of. It’s the Blake Coleman’s of the world. Not the Josh Anderson’s.

Anderson isn’t a bad player and his contract is acceptable for what he is.

I still think he could be worth picking up (assuming he doesn't sign in Minnesota) because I think he's going to get a one year cheap deal

It's also perfectly acceptable to discuss/analyze a player on another team without comparing them to someone who plays on the Leafs....
True that, but if you’ve been following the thread what has been happening isn’t “discussion “ or “analysis” it’s been character assignation. The hate is beyond funny, regardless of anyone’s opinion of JA, he’s a good player, and has scored timely goals in this years playoffs. If people want to compare his production to Kerfoot or Spezza that’s okay, but he brings more to the table in areas that those players pale in comparison. Leafs have plenty of player production problems of their own, hating on a Hab because they knocked out the Leafs is pretty comical imo.

by the way, this all started when one of the genius posters here said, and I quote “Anderson suck.” He then went on minutes later to tie the game and then svore the winning goal in OT. Yup, pretty useless player.

Anderson has just 12 points in his last 45 games.

Tavares is 3 points shy of a PPG in his Leaf regular season games and has 8 points in 13 playoff games including the one he got knocked out in this year.

One of these players is actually good. Hint: It's not Anderson.
They both won’t age well, but Anderson makes HALF what JT does.

Josh Anderson needs to return to his career-best season to be worth his deal or he needs his team to be a consistent playoff team that wins at least 1 round every year to be worth his deal (going for the intangible factor)

He can't be a 35ish point regular-season player with the habs missing the playoffs if he wants to be worth his deal.

If the habs fall back and his production isn't there, he's going to be receiving much criticism from their fans. Next year will tell us what player he actually is. Right now, the habs are waiting 24 hours t0 get swept, and then it becomes interesting.

If the habs have a good year and make the playoffs this run becomes all the more impressive. They have a lot of assets, including picks. If they wanted to push to become a consistent contender they could move pieces for current help.

Hampus Lindholm would be a good add for top pairing LHD
Retain Danult, and then trade drouin, move on from armia and tatar and add guys like Schwartz and Hoffman and the team becomes a big time contender for the duration of Price's deal.

Oh no it isn't.

Anderson has a lot of attributes we need on the roster but make no mistake that he sucks. He makes $5 million and he put up Joe Thornton numbers in the regular season and has 4 points on this playoff run. He's only able to do this because the rest of Montreal is carrying him by committee.

The guy is probably a Galchenyuk level reclamation.

He's a hard player to slot in our lineup

We already have a ton of 4th liners and I'm not sure he's capable of scoring at a 3rd line clip

I also think we may have enough cap space to invest in 3rd liners that are paid like 3rd liners this year as well

What on earth are you talking about? If the Leafs had this contract youd be crying foul

Ideally if we could grab at least a few of these guys:
Coleman 4.25
Goodrow 2.5
Cizikas 3.75
Bunting 900k
Bozak 1.75-2
Glendening 1
Oleksiak 3.75

that's my prediction for their salaries, it would be nice to snag a few of these guys to round out the lineup

I just want to say I appreciate your level-headed approach and non-knee-jerk reactive responses. You don't seem to ever take anything as a personal affront, at least not outwardly. It's something I've noticed about your posts and is something I am trying to add to my repertoire. Trying......

Very well said my HF Leafs friend. @Stephen strikes me the same way too, as does @Korg.

We can all improve our ability to soften our response and deliver a good message.

A tip of the hat to you for acknowledging it and giving credit to a fellow Member. That's how we make this Place better, imho.

Cheers, GP. A generous characterization of myself, but appreciated nonetheless.

Gimme the four Ontario boys on this list, please. That would be the beginning of a solid character shift, and some top-notch playoff experience to boot.
