I also want Oleksiak.
I also want Oleksiak.

If Oleksiak is unavailable, Ian Cole would be solid.
LOVE this, probably more realistic than the Oleksiak option.
Hammer isn't a bad fall back option, could be cheaper too.
What I would love to see Dubas do,
Trade with Arizona for Garland and Kuemper
Sign Foligno
Sign Czikas
Sign Kuraly
Sign Saad
Sign Goodrow
Sign Olesiak
Trade options-
Rielly
Dermott
Engvall
Mikheyev
Draft picks
Kerfoot taken by Seattle
Garland- Matthews- Nylander
Saad- Tavares- Marner
Foligno-Czikas- Goodrow
Spezza-Kuraly- Simmonds
Tampa has to blow up the roster to an extent, how about Killorn? Similar to Hyman but only 2 years left on the contract.
Foegele and Canes wanting to see if they can get him a change of scenery too.
Yeah I mentioned Foegle above. He could a solid candidate for the 4th line. Sean Kuraly in free agency is a good option too.
Killorn was almost traded to Nashville last off-season apparently until they found out Kucherov needed the LTIR. Assuming Tampa doesn't cheat again...Killorn will most likely be moved.
Leafs needs a Big body top 6 presence, especially if Hyman leaves. Killorn, JT Miller, Evander Kane would be solid targets
Offseason thoughts. Would like to hear your thoughts.
Mentioned this earlier - But moving Dermott to Detroit for their second and Givani Smith seems like a smart move.
I'd also explore moving Engvall to Edmonton, Edmonton will be looking to add depth. He could be an interesting option for them with his speed. Realistically, we could only expect a 4th/5th + a longshot.
-------
Trades -
#1 - Dermott to Detroit for their second (36th overall) + Givani Smith.
Why we do it? it allows us to start to restock our cupboard by adding another pick. This second allows us to trade down with our own second ie; our second for a late second and a 3rd (similar to the ottawa deal last draft).. Additionally, Givani Smith is a kid who plays a gritty hard nosed game and could be our 13th forward.
Why it makes sense for Detroit? Detroit is lacking defence, and Dermott could be given a shot in their top 4. They have 3 seconds moving moving their own second not much of an issue. Additionally, moving a guy like smith gives more opportunity for young guys like Dennis Rasmussen, Joe Veleno, Taro Hirose and Lucas Raymond.
#2 - Engvall to Edmonton for their 2021 6th round pick and Markus Niemelainen
Why we do it? It gives us more cap space up front and again adds more to the cupboard. Niemelainen is a rare prospect, a Huge good skating dman. Realistically he's a longshot.
Why Edmonton does it? Adds depth to their bottom 6.

Look at Peter Mrazek for 1B, look at signing one of Coleman/Schwartz, signing Bunting, signing Bozak for 3c, and maybe Matt Calvert.
Coleman - Matthews - Marner
Robertson - Tavares - Nylander
Bunting - Bozak - Mikheyev
Calvert- Spezza - Simmonds
Adam Brooks/Givani Smith/Joey Anderson
Rielly - Brodie
Muzzin - Holl
Sandin - Bogosian
Liljegren
Campbell
Mrazek
Love Kuraly and also a Foegele fanYeah I mentioned Foegle above. He could a solid candidate for the 4th line. Sean Kuraly in free agency is a good option too.

Valiant effort there and a couple of thoughts:
- Robertson has a long way to go before he can be penciled in as a top 6 forward on this team.
- I think the team lacks an identity where they don't have the sandpaper and grit that's required to withstand playoff hockey
- I have question marks regarding our PK there - I don't think the additions move the needle on our special teams
- I like the Mrazek signing but I think he'd want term. I'd much rather get a player like Mike Smith who is a capable 1B and can really help kill the cycle game by his puck handling
- I like the Calvert signing. He's a solid bottom six player but he's reactionary tough. I want some proactive toughness.
I'd counter with:
Hyman - Matthews - Marner
Foligno - Tavares - Nylander
Goodrow - Janmark - Mikheyev
Glendening - Spezza - Simmonds
Engvall/Brooks
Rielly - Brodie
Muzzin - Holl
Sandin - Bogosian
Hakanpaa
Campbell / Smith
Pretty realistic moves with limited turnover. The people that are expecting the entire forward group to be gutted will be disappointed. At the same time, I don't think there's enough of an identity shift and the physicality still needs to take another step forward.Coleman - Matthews - Marner
Robertson - Tavares - Nylander
Bunting - Bozak - Mikheyev
Calvert- Spezza - Simmonds
Adam Brooks/Givani Smith/Joey Anderson
Rielly - Brodie
Muzzin - Holl
Sandin - Bogosian
Liljegren
Campbell
Mrazek
I'd consider it a blockbuster if Dubey can pull off signing Oleksiak this off season.I also want Oleksiak.

So according to Pierre Lebrun, Frederik Andersen is interested in signing back in Toronto, and his agent, Claude Lemieux, expressed that to the Leafs on Monday.
This is mostly a nothing report. Of course Freddy would probably be open to staying. However unless he takes a massive pay cut, it won’t happen.
That's $20M in and $10M out assuming Garland and Kuemper are no more than Zach and Freddy.
