I can't see Stamkos leaving though. Has a full nmc, took a discount to stay long term with the team and seemingly loves playing in Florida.

Johnson is another tricky one. Owed a lot of real money and a high caphit. They had no takers the last time they tried to flip him and even had him on waivers with everyone passing. They probably have to add a few sweetners to make it happen.

Killorn is probably moved.

Yeah, I dont see them moving Stamkos either…. But it probably is their best way out of cap trouble.

I can see them paying Seattle a first to take Johnson. With the total lack of centers likely to be available, they could actually use him. He’s probably better than Kerfoot.

I wonder who Tampa moves out this offseason. It could potentially be 2 or 3 roster players
I think Kilorn may be a good guy to target. LW, 4.5 million for 2 years, huge playoff performer, 4o-point type of guy (26 goals 2 seasons ag0), big and hard to contain, great at winning puck battles in the corners, not a wimp. I think he's perfect. What would it take though to get him?

Of course, Goodrow and Coleman are good options.

The other guy a few of us have talked about is Boris Katchouk. This guy has really progressed and just had a breakout season in the AHL. He's a big body, jack-of-all-trades type. Very good defensively. He can become a bigger version of C Brown. Tampa just can't seem to squeeze him in the line-up. Now with Colton and Joseph emerging, it may be time to trade Katchouk.

There's also Taylor Raddysh. GTA guy, Soo connection, and also improving.

Friedman said this morning Leafs like Bertuzzi and were interested in him at the TDL but he was injured. Would have been nice to have that first to include in a deal for him this summer.

Wings also have some good young talent. I can see them as a good trade partner if you ignore that they are in the same division.

Would likely result in Goodrow or Wennberg not coming in

Not sure what the numbers would look like but I'd be good with that. Need for Goodrow diminishes with acquisition of Bertuzzi. We also do not know what other pieces are moved out (i.e. Kerfoot, Hyman, Anderson, Mikheyev, Engvall, Holl),

Elliotte Friedman on FAN 590 this morning was asked which forwards the Leafs might target via trade - Tyler Bertuzzi from Detroit. He said they inquired at the trade deadline but he was injured at the time. I wonder what assets they would have to give up?

sure, grab more injured players that may not be able to make it trough the playoffs

I would normally disagree but in this case we would need to do our due diligence better than we did with Foligno:

DETROIT -- Detroit Red Wings forward Tyler Bertuzzi underwent successful back surgery on Friday, April 30 at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York City. The procedure was performed by Dr. Frank Cammisa. He is expected to make a full recovery and be ready for the start of the 2021-22 season.

Ah man didn't hear this! At all. That'd be a dream to get that kid. Our very own, Ontario born, pain in the rear. I get so jealous watching teams that have guys like Marchand, Gallagher, Konecny etc. That annoy the crap out of you, and can produce. It's why Darcy Tucker was my favourite Leaf growing up. Bertuzzi is definitely the type of player we need, and a guy who can up the temperature. We have a 24yr old Dermott signed now, 22yr old Liljegren, and a 21yr old Sandin. Detroit needs Blueline help, and id put any one of them in a package for Bertuzzi. Btw I totally believe you, but is there somewhere I can read about that? Just to amp myself up lol

He's an FA, so no assets! Part of the reason I love this new bit of info.

I'm what you could call injury prone, except, i've never actually suffered an 'injury' ...and when you have a bad back (or hips like some others) you never fully recover, even though the surgery is a 100% success.
you are never the same, or better. this isnt like baseball where a pitcher can return with better 'stuff' after a tommy john surgery
hockey is physical, and when you suffer any physical damage to anything that can impact your 'core', you are prone to losing something even with a full recovery.
