So in a scenario where;

3 star players make lots of money
vs
1 washed up replacement level player makes lots of money,

you think the 3 star players are the issue?

Also, not even Lou agrees with just “eating the contract” when he just did a similar move, at a similar cost to what Dubas had to do, in order to keep other key players and make free agent signings.
Obviously Lou the genius would have passed on John Tavares to keep Patrick Marleau for a year. That would have been a BRILLIANT move; look at all the cap space he could have spent on guys like Komarov and Ladd for us!

Has never hit on any deals but passes but when he finally has the opportunity to get one right he instead decided to "lay one out there to let the haters have a field day".

Sounds believable to me.

I'm sure someone will be along to say he was right about things, I've never seen it.

It's like those that defend Eklund "Well he was right about Carter and Richards", and I'm not even sure he was correct about them, but let's just say he was.... those trades were ~10 years ago.

It was already out there ... a friend is in sports science and was working on a Flyers' executive and both were made available for a specific western conference goalie before the other trades went down.

Also Seattle will be making their picks by Wednesday... but with trades is that still allowed for them? It just can't be announced until the team is laid out on Wednesday?

Lou signed Marleau. Dubas was painted into a corner too.

with more money and a NMC and saying he only wanted to go to SJ. Only to be traded later
forgot Lou handcuffed the team with terrible contracts of the core 4 you can sling it off the wall see if it sticks Lou team Was one goal from being in the cup final how do we do

About the same as when Lou was here?

Joel Armia is another low-key target. Has great size and speed. Great forechecker.

Given the right situation.. he can be used like a Zach Hyman imo. I wonder if Dubas has him on his UFA wish-list

Seems incredibly risky to expose Price. Yeah the contract but the marketing of a big name goalie who just went to the Finals could be intriguing to a new team in Seattle.

I agree. He's been on my radar for a few years now. Hopefully he's on Kyle's as well. Kind of surprised he doesn't get more mention here.

He showed how solid of a middle-six player he is in the playoffs.

I'd love to have him in the mix as I think he's got the skill to play up and down in the lineup if needed.
