Landeskog a Leaf??

would you do it ?

Hyman walks, and Kerfoot is drafted by Seattle. Do you go all in on Landeskog?

I say yes. His wife is from Toronto. So who knows. Salming was his dads favourite growing up.
I do it in a heart beat.
Theres a salary cap though.

We would lose Dermott in expansion, which means we are losing 2 fairly important defensemen off of our roster. I can see us losing one of Dermott or Holl this year, but not both. Especially since it also looks like Bogosian is moving on this year as well.

I'm sorry, but when you are talking about signing players, Lou Lam is not the example you use, unless its for albatross contracts for middle line players
for every decent deal he signs, he signs 2-3 really bad ones

Firstly- didn't know Cap friendly had that feature- awesome. Thanks for pointing it out.

Secondly- that stretch of about 7 days from draft day 2013 to the 5th of July was about the most effective self destruction of a team I've ever seen.

Trades 9th overall pick for a goalie, commits 26.35% of the cap on deals no shorter than 3 years to Elias/Clowe/Zubrus/Ryder

Landeskog isn't the type of player you trade Nylander out for.

Landeskog is solid and brings a lot of leadership and all but I'd rather keep the skill that Nylander brings and allocate the funds throughout the lineup and make it more deeper than just top heavy.

Need to be going after the Goodrows, McGinns, Glendenings to round out our bottom six here.

I didn't bring up Lou Lam, I replied to a post that mentioned him.
I believe any GM would have handled things better.

Worst move Dubas has made by far. He was very average even before he got hurt.

You give up a first rounder for Foligno when Hall (who I also didn't want) goes for far less.

Yeah Dubas really thought they could do it this year but that has really back fired. I did want Folingo and at the time I think I thought it's the price you pay to go deep... lol... well that thought process also back fired.

Hall did more in the playoffs but not too much. The price wasn't so bad though.

It's the 1st rounder we gave up. Regardless of what anyone says, I just think 1st rounders should only be traded for players who are expected to bring a much bigger impact than a Foligno would any way.

I would be interested in giving D'Angelo a chance. Maybe a year contract on a show me what you got deal

If he doesn't play or gives attitude well waive him

Yeah I agree. I never understood that move at all. Dubas second worst move next to his marner contract

This to me is nutty. I think Hyman is great but he's about a 4 million times 4 year guy to me.
That's too much for what he does.

If Robertson or another younger under the radar cheap signing could be had... I think people will quickly forget about him.

Hyman at 6 mill?!?! JFC and probably a NMC too.

Servavelli on the DFO podcast today, he said lack of 1st tound pick could hurt Toronto on Kuemper, but said Leafs have been interested in Garland, so he wonders if a deal becomes bigger with those 2 teams which doesn't involve picks.

Kuemper and Garland would terrific if possible. You solve 2 needs in one deal.

Well if that's true with Foligno that sucks. We'll see.

He was not good here, and is not good in general anymore. He is replaceable, and it won't cost a lot to do so either.

He has value both on and off the ice, but we can't let his intangibles make him out to be more than he is, which is a good defensive bottom 6er.

This to me is more on the pro scout. I mean don't they have a say or speak up?

All the players we signed last year I wonder if our pro scout actually watched them play

This is also trying to throw a hail marry

I think after this happening I agree. I expected a lot more from Foligno and he was hurt but it needs to be for a greater impact player. Oh well shit happens. Hopefully Dubas learned from that.

No, we need a quality defender, much more than a quality winger

couldnt afford Hall, we had to work magic to get Foligno to fit
