My prediction on what we do (not what I want)

We miss out on Parayako.

Tre brings in Dumba/Bjugstad from Arizona - Brodie and our 1rst.

My prediction:

We miss out on Parayako.

Tre brings in Dumba/Bjujstad from Arizona - Brodie and our 1rst.

Many do not like Dumba but if I can get him cheap, I'd get him and call it a day. I like Parayko but he's already on the wrong side of 30. If the Bruins acquire Lindholm and a dman, we will be in tough as it stands.
I usually like your take on things, but wouldn't want him if he was free..........

Jeez. I assume it would take the 1st, Liljegren and probably Robertson for this to happen. They also have no cap space.

But that guy isn't very credible as far as I can see.
Might be much but I'll do it. Nevermind not credible I guess

Man if Brad can pull both players from the Blues, I take back what I said about him.

Interesting math, and I don't think we have the assets to get this done... but anyway...

Parayko + Buchenevich (75%) retained with Brodie and Giordano out the door...and Gregor waived, we are cap compliant.

Just saying....

Brodie would probably be in it for salary purposes as well.

If they keep Cowan I'm probably on board. Moreso for Buch though, I love his game.

Thank your lucky star we missed out on Parayko
He has another 6 years left. Getting paid like a premium D when he's anything but

It has been going on for a while, Armstrong wants younger guys for sort of a retool.

I wouldn't be surprised if they broke it down into two trades one now and one maybe in the off-season. Who knows though? I know it got cold for a bit.

1st+ Liljegren for Parayko at full pop
Jones + Lagesson waived
Brodie traded for pick(s)

= cap compliant with 28k to spare

Knies-Matthews-Marner
McMann-JT-Jarncrok
Bert-Domi-Nylander
Holmberg-Kampf-Gregor
Reaves

Rielly-Boosh
McCabe-Parayko
Benoit-Edmundson
Gio/Lagesson

If you're going to play Parayko with Rielly I think you need to find a way to keep Liljegren so that someone outside the top pair can move the puck

After the Edmundson trade, Savard and Jensen don't make sense. The only move on D they might still do if tabled is the Parayko blockbuster. But, that may be a summer move.

imo Jensen makes even more sense now, they're moving too far in a bulky direction and we could use a good skating PMD who can still defend. Especially since they don't seem to trust Lily.

Some people still keep echoing this false statement. How did Dubas "draft well". What is the measure of success for drafting? Here are the NHL players drafted by the Leafs during the time Dubas was the GM:

2018:
Rasmus Sandin (#29) - Traded
Sean Durzi (#52) - Traded
Pontus Holmberg (#156) - Current 4th liner.

No other picks are considered prospect status.

2019:
Nicholas Robertson (#53) - Hasn't yet established himself as a full time NHL player.

Mikko Kokkonen (#84) - Considered a prospect. Is he viewed as someone with NHL upside? (actual question as I'm not sure how his development has been going).

2020:

No Current NHL Players

Roni Hirvonen (#59) - Considered a prospect but isn't tracking well to be an NHL player (IMO).
Topi Niemela (#64) - Legit prospect that hopefully can become a full time NHL dman.
Ryan Tverberg (#213) - Considered a prospect but seems like a long shot to have an NHL career.

*Amirov (#15) - Rest In Peace young man (this pick is not up for debate and excluded from conversation regarding drafting performance ).

2021:

Matthew Knies (#57) - Established himself as NHL player, looks to be a good top 6 player.

No Prospects

2022:

Fraser Minten (#38) - A solid prospect that projects to be a solid 3rd line C in the future.
Dennis Hildeby (#122) - A good goalie prospect. Could have an NHL career (all goalies are hard to project).
Nikita Grebenkin (#135) - A promising prospect playing in the KHL. Has skills, will it translate to NHL?

In 5 NHL drafts (team would be awarded 7 picks per draft = 35 picks in total). Dubas and his scouting staff managed to select:

5 NHL players:
2 traded
Knies
Holmberg & Robertson still fighting to establish themselves as

Man if Brad can pull both players from the Blues, I take back what I said about him.

f*** yes!!!!! Do it Treliving. You would have to think Lilly/1st rounder/Minten would be out the door
