I was not expecting much this TDL and rightfully so IMO. Edmundson helps but my expectations of this team are low. They are low for next year until I see what Tre does this summer.

Liljegren is certainly a top 4 man on his roster, and Woll is likely the #1 goalie until someone else turns up.

I actually liked the Edmundson who played against us vs the Habs. But I haven't really watched him since so need to see him in person. I am shocked he is only 30.

One day I am going to write a list of all the crap the Leafs have traded picks for who played for us for 2 months and did almost nothing to help. Almost none of them re-signed and contributed in any meaningful way. Let alone all the draft capital they have given up for retention or even worse getting rid of cap (Marleau / Mrazek)....

I have a question. I didn't want to trade a 1st for Tanev. But the cost for Tanev was always a 2nd. So had we ponied up the 1st, maybe they would have thrown back a pick? Say a 3rd rounder for this exercise. Would we rather have what we currently have.

Or Tanev, 3 3rds, a 5th and a 6th but no 1st this year?

I think both sides have merit.

I hope not - pretty sure Benoit is better than Edmundson today, not to mention will be cheaper to re-sign and has essentially his whole career ahead of him.

I dont think we are looking at RD if a lily swap is in play. Would be to swap for a forward of the same age or around that area if I were to guess with a mix/swap of prospects.
