Let's say we swap Brodie for Parayko in some form, does this make the team a contender? Probably not. I do think we're better with Parayko, so we can build on that this offseason.

From the reports, it seems Treliving is not keen on spending the 1st and good prospects we have for rentals. I am OK not doing anything if the right deal isn't there.

He's been in the rumour mill for a long time. It's very reminiscent of the Chychrun and Phaneuf (CGY) rumours.

Not sure about the Leafs having interest but I've seen him linked to us in some way. But the Leafs don't have cap space to make it happen unless they pull a Dubas at last years deadline and trades 3-4 roster players.

I would gladly move Brodie in the deal to make it happen.

How does Vegas keep having the assets to land these players?

They’re so anti-draft and development.. how hasn’t it caught up to them yet

Their draft capital is better than ours.

Notable prospects/young players include;

Korczak
Brisson
Dorofeyev
Edstrom
Sapovaliv
Chayka

They're still thriving off of taking most of the other teams in the league to the shed during their expansion.
Exactly.

They got shit handed on a platter compared to most expansion teams.

Yup fair... they've made some great trades and went for it.

.
but... this was all about Gary getting another team in the NHL. More revenue... and a lot of money to buy it.... so Gary bent over for them to get a ton right from the start.

Is St.Louis trying to dump Parayko contract to free up cap space?

I would say it's not quite at the Phaneuf situatoon, but similar.

A rebuilding team who won't benefit from the quality years left on the contract, would be better served to move him for value now, and avoid the bad years of the contract. Difference is Parayko still has value (but not as much as before his big extension) - Phaneuf essentially didn't and was almost a pure dump.

Dreger that hack is salty as all hell that Friedman has gotten ahead of him on the Vegas-Hanifin rumour.

Like you can't just tweet out "Vegas is on on everyone" with a week to go before the TDL and then take credit when a team known for making bold moves makes a move.

I believe Parayko has value, but that contract doesn't warrant a first rd pk
