Jeannot would be a solid target. You’re not going to get him AND Trenin though.I'd target Jeannot + Murphy.

Jeannot is a guy that came out of nowhere to shoot 20% for more than a year.Jeannot would be a solid target. You’re not going to get him AND Trenin though.
100%, people see the hit total and think you’re going to need to give up an arm and a leg to acquire a third liner.Jeannot is a guy that came out of nowhere to shoot 20% for more than a year.
I would be extremely wary of giving up valuable assets for that type of player. Like the guy, but that screams major regression.
You would think Nashville would be wary of moving on from such a player. Move like that could come back and haunt them.Jeannot is a guy that came out of nowhere to shoot 20% for more than a year.

You think shooting 20% is sustainable for him?You would think Nashville would be wary of moving on from such a player. Move like that could come back and haunt them.
Robertson doesn't need a change of scenery. He needs development. To Toronto: Max Comtois
To Anaheim: Nick Robertson
Change of scenery for both these players.

I'd mostly look to him for help around the crease, pk, physicality depending on where Muzzin is. Ideally they'd acquire someone better or with cheaper AVV though. It's been mentioned but Connor Murphy has always seemed like a good long term solution to pair with Rielly.
Allows for Brodie to shelter Sandin or Gio.
Yep, I'm sure Rutherford would be licking his chops for another opportunity.
I don't want to do the deal at all and I'm willing to be patient with him but you can't teach size.Robertson doesn't need a change of scenery. He needs development.

Caufield isn't big either but there's a way he's being put into the best position to contribute. That's Keefe's responsibility.
Andrew Peeke or Connor Murphy are the only defensemen I would consider giving up assets for at the moment. Most of the depth guys suggested aren't any better than Benn or Mete.
If the standings stay the same the forward market could be pretty flooded with talent at the deadline.
I don't think Dubas wants Nylander centering a line. Too easy to find out that he's our #2C.Engvall+ for Kapanen with retention down to even the price of the contracts? Maybe that's all Kapanen wants. He liked it here. He's friends with Nylander. Maybe make the third line something like
xxx Nylander Kapanen
Toronto needs to replace Muzzin, that should be priority number one. They need someone that can make a good breakout pass to the forwards consistently and can play in his own end with solid defensive play. I don't think penny pinching by having someone like Schenn/Benn/Lybushkin/Savard etc is good enough, they need to set their sights higher then that, but I agree, a offensive driver on D is not what the Maple Leafs need.Imo biggest acquisition debate is 3C vs 2nd pairing LHD. If it's the D, I don't think they need to swing for the fences for a star or an offensive driver. Just get another safe minute munching guy who the team can throw out there for a 1/3 of the game and know they likely won't give up a goal
Considering the price he paid for Kapanen, I'd be fine with him wanting another go
I don't see how Robertson is sitting when he gets less TOI per game than Kerfoot etc but has similar production.
We have so many holes in this roster. Needed another top 4D this off-season and a 3C but he didn't get these pieces.
