Starting to feel like we would need pretty strong additions to beat Tampa, Florida or Boston in R1, assuming we get into a divisional spot.
he never should have been qualified.Engvall is a complete waste of his Size and height.
Only the leafs can have a player who can skate with size and be the softest player known to man. Ditto for Justin Holl
he never should have been qualified.
nah. he's not worth $2.25m.Yes, he should have.
Just came off 15 goals and 35 points in a support role.
He just has to play up to his potential, and he looks like he's starting to get up to speed.
If he can't return to form, he can be moved.
Don't forget Leafs are one of he lowest scoring teams in the league thus far.
I wouldnt mind kappy at 50 percent or around 2 million for him is fine. He adds lots of speed and was a decent Penalty killer.
No chance Nashville moves Saros.
Saros is 27 and has 3 years left on his deal, including this year, at 5m. I don't see how that's "long term", a "big goalie contract", or something that Dubas wouldn't be interested in, though the other user is right and Nashville is definitely not moving him at this point in time.I don’t think Saros would be a Dubas type goalie. He’s locked in for a while and the Leafs tend to shy away from those big goalie contracts.

Carson Soucy
Connor Murphy
Two names I would be interested in seeing in Blue and White. Good 4/5 options for depth.
Lobbing a random name out there. But if we can free up one roster spot, could Tyler Bozak be a good Jason Spezza replacement as center depth?

Soucy and Zub
Subtract holl and Muzzin
Soucy-Zub
Rielly-Brodie
Giordano-Liljegren
Stacked.
From what I've seen from Giordano this year, they need another to replace him.
He looks a bit stressed, and isn't as clean looking this year.
Next year might be pretty ugly for him.
He might be done.
And like you say Leafs would have to move someone to sign him, and who makes sense to move?
I'd be down for moving some prospect(s) for futures.
It would be nice if they had less than 50 contracts wouldn't it?
I think Kral will be ready for next year.
He's both employed a goalie making 5m (Andersen) for 3 years and signed a goalie for 3 years (Mrazek), so I'm not sure how you're concluding that 5m or 3 years is too much for him.Name one other goalie Dubas has traded for that would include a 3 year term remaining and $5 million AAV.
I agree. Between the goalie health, and even bigger, the core's ability to deliver in the playoffs, there's too many question marks to bet on this core in terms of mortgaging futures. With our goalies injury history there’s gonna be legit concern all season. At any point one or both can be out. How do you mortgage the future on something so precarious? For that reason I can’t see any high end rentals. Paying a first or more for a one run rental when we could be going into playoffs with no goalies is too risky.
I think if we have Sandin, Liljegren, and Kral plus if Niemela wants to contend for a spot the blueline will not have the right mix.
