No first this year to good of a draft.
No Knies we need to see what we have with him.
As much as I agree, don't think the GM who wont be here next year cares about the deep draft and good prospect. Could very well be wrong and Dubas doesn't sacrifice the future to save his job now. Time will tell.

If he does he's a f***ing idiot.
I could see if we actually won a round.

Gavrikov is Jake Muzziin
Soucy
Trevor Moore loved him when he played for us

Wouldn’t be surprised if Dumba is someone Dubas is keeping an eye on. Holl being from Minnesota would probably be going back the other way in the deal.

Brodie - Dumba
Rielly - Liljegren

Top four.

would you do a 2023 1st for andrew peeke?

hes young, physical and affordable defenseman. assuming bj's are looking to make changes.

I’d think strongly about it. Given his age, right hand shot and physical presence I’m leaning towards yes.

Did we lose out on anyone good this summer by keeping muzz?

McD would be siMiar but he wanted nashville taxes…… I wanted Marino but that would have been a trade…..

If people had to pick one of

Gavrikov. Zub. Orlov who is best? Orlov is oldest probably most talent

They are probably the best rental D we could get.

Murphy. Peeke. Provorov have term

If he's your guy, and he's locked up for this year, plus three years, I don't think that's a crazy cost.

If we are getting either Gavrikov or Peeke from CLB I hope we also push hard for Jenner. Perfect 3C for us and also can move up into left wing spot in top 6 if needed. He adds a different element from what our team has(physical and decent hands and can score)

Any interest in moving Kerfoot’s 3.5 mil cap hit and replacing him with a bigger player that can actually finish?

Replacing him with a better player would obviously be something anyone would do. Easier said than done.

The cost to make that happen would be pretty big I think, especially if it's both Peeke and Jenner.

Not sure they will sell that hard, especially after signing Gaudreau last off-season. They'll retool with their pending UFAs though, so Gavrikov I'm sure can be had. I'd be surprised if they part with good players beyond this season, unless they fire Jarmo.

If Toronto is going for a UFA rental route, the top tier players should be the only ones they target, legitimate good players. No point in spending assets on 6th d-mans and 4th line players.

Targets on Forward: Kane,Horvat,Tarasenko,ROR,Larkin,Bertuzzi,Strome
Targets on Defence: Klingberg,Orlov,Chycurun,Dumba

Obviously some of these are team dependent on how they are doing @ the deadline, but those are players that move the needle for us.

I think if the Leafs are in firm playoff spot at the deadline, people should be ready to expect a 1st or a top prospect to be moved, this is likely Dubas last kick at the can if they don't advance past the 1st round, it becomes someone else problem to deal with later.
Mortgage our future even more....how has that worked out the last 6 years?

Nick Robertson+ for Wyatt Johnston ?
Dallas would never consider that.

I don't see Peeke being available any time soon. CLB needs more Peeke's, not fewer.

Obviously, the specific deals haven't worked out but we are doing OK futures-wise.

We have some young players in the pipeline or on the roster

Sandin
Liljegren
Niemela
Robertson
Knies
Holmberg
Steeves
Abuzzese
Minten
Amirov*
...even Woll, Petruzzelli and Kallgren

We have all of our firsts too.

We have cap space and assets and this is our window. I would go all in for the right adds.

Friedman dropped a couple names he heard we were interested in on his most recent podcast. Frank Vatrano and (prepare your SSM jokes) Connor Timmins.

Timmins is so injury prone, I'd offer Woll maybe.

Vatrano? Shoot first guy which is nice but we'd need a 3C to help get him the puck.

i dont understand why ppl are suggesting a player the team just signed

Because they've just signed seven of their D men. and have more RD, than they need. He's not the only guy they've recently signed. It isn't an uncommon thing to move on from a player that you've signed in the last year... we've done it a number of times.

Timmins looked so promising, before all of those injuries. Sadly, his progress hasn't been.....

If Timmins is being given away due to making 850k in real dollars, then I would entertain it. We could toss them Gogolev and have a guy we can just stash as a #7 with the hope he can stay healthy. Worst case, we get out of a wasted contract spots for next year.

Arizona saves a ton of money and gets a decent prospect needing a fresh start.

We could even toss Rindell in there if we want to open up a contract spot, but I doubt the Leafs give up on him that fast.
