Emptying all futures and turning over 30% of the roster for a one and done doesn't seem to be particularly astute under any circumstances.

I'd stick to leaving those NHL 23 trades in the game and not transcribing them here.

I'm wondering where Bunting went?

You downgraded from Holl, to Schenn... not sure why.. and that isn't just a small downgrade, it's actually terrible. I'd speculate, that even though Chych is good... the D overall might be worse now.

I'm the guy criticizing people for overpaying for Crouse/Chychrun, but you managed to put together a deal that they'd hang up the phone on... really, Sandin, Knies, 1st is their ask for Jakob alone... and then you want the other pieces for free?

Then that 4th line? LOL... I mean man... Steeves, a winger is our 4C now? He's not good 5v5 at the AHL level... but you are going to bring him here as a C? You did all that and somehow made our C's worse?

No, this was just bad.

And what exactly has this current roster done the last couple of years in the playoffs? Maybe that's exactly the issue, continuing going with the same team over and over again but expecting different results, I'm sorry but that's not going to happen. Not to mention, the only player's that would be free agents would be Bertuzzi and Schenn, both who we would be able to afford to bring back with the money that is also going out.

My top two targets are Larkin and Meier but if not I'd target Bertuzzi and Jeannot.

To

Bunting. Matthews. Nylander
Bertuzzi. Tavares. Marner
Jeannot. Kampf. Jarnkrok
Engvall. Holmberg. Erne
Zar, Mcmann

Reilly. Liljegren
Sandin. Brodie
Gio. Holl
Benn. Timmins

Samsonov
Murray

It's just too much movement... nobody turns over a quarter of their lineup this time of year... at least not teams looking to compete. One, two sure, three pieces is rare. But five won't happen. If Jenner is truly available... I agree with other posters, and say ask for Peeke. Then I wonder... why have you put a pretty good C, a natural C on LW? I mean, if you want to upgrade LW... go ahead, get a LW... Comtois, Crouse...
I agree on your point about roster overhaul.

Swap Henrique and Jenner if you want Jenner at C. I personally think Jenner’s play style would fit with Tavares.

It’s funny because we’re all talking about big names like Meier, Chychrun and even Tarasenko but I can see Dubas’ “big” move be adding Garland for fairly cheap.

Bunting - Matthews - Nylander
Garland - Tavares - Marner
Engvall - Kampf - Jarnkrok
Aston Reese - Kerfoot - Holmberg

Many like the cheaper Barbashev, He plays a heavier game and also replaces Engvall if he walks.

Can he play LW?

Thats no reason to make the team worse

I wouldn't, because high cost TD acquisitions almost never pan out.
Well, I think we should go all in. We need some success, and re-inforcements will get us by Tampa I believe and give us a shot against Boston.
What we are potentially trading will take time to perform, and I include Knies in that assessment.

Gallant should have been (or be) our coach..
A tough as nails productive player and a great coach.
I wish I could like this more than once.

150% wanted Gallant as our HC. The guy knows how to win and how to coach.

Keefe is coming along and I'm looking to see how he coaches during the Playoffs. The games can definitely be lost, and it starts from losses by the bench. We cannot get out-coached.

:eyeroll: Well I hope Knies is capable of scoring at this level, assuming he’s not moved to improve the defence.

This front office doesn't really let things leak so I don't believe anyone knows their real deadline plan. However, he does have a clear track record of adding safe players who barely move the needle. Expecting more of the same seems pretty reasonable. Maybe a depth defenseman and a responsible 4th liner
