I guess so, you have your opinion I have mine, Nylander is an elite Talent getting better every season I mean he may not get 12 or maybe he will, lets see what happens, I doubt either you or me will remember us discussing this when he signs his new deal lol. so I doubt we will brag one way or the other lol

If somebody does you will hear from me, I'll be the dude asking what that madman of a GM thought he was doing

Muzzin is 100% done for the year, if not his career

The Leafs have roughly 5 mill to spend with a 21 man roster, could be 8.5 if they deal Kerfoot.

Boston has 0 cap once they activate Debrusk who is nearing a return from injury

Tampa has about 2 mill if they go with a 21 man roster
So if Muzzin doesn’t retire I was correct?

Muzzin doesn't need to retire. It's whether or not he's playing this regular season, which is looking very unlikely.
We also have pieces we can use to match cap, if we're looking to make significant moves.
And either way, you were still wildly wrong about how much space Boston and Tampa have.

So Parayko may be available. This is honestly the perfect acquisition. RHD, Big, physical, good puck handler, big shot, Signed long term at a reasonable cap.
Come on Dubas, you can do this.

Buchnevich (1.5 million retained)and Parayko.

2023 first round pick
2024 first round pick
Sandin
Kerfoot
Niemela

Bunting Matthews Nylander
Buchnevich Tavares Marner
Engvall Kampf Jarnkrok
ZAR Holmberg (Steeves, Anderson, Simmonds)

Rielly Parayko
Brodie Lilly
Giordano Holl
Timmins

Parayko needs a shut down guy, to help him up... Rielly and him would likely be a defensive disaster. St. Louis fans talk about him needing a change of scenery, and that he hasn't been the same since losing his shutdown partner. He used to be a sought after guy, but his game has really slipped, even since this player card. Ironically, if you had a "Muzzin" in the lineup, he'd be a good partner for Jake.

The problem with Kerfoot isn't that he's a terrible player but more that his skillset is very similar to what we have in our core players.

Overlapping skillset/talent can definitely be a thing and it's very easy to argue we could use some more versatlity in the size, physicality, finishing ability department.

Also, not sure where the idea that he's physical comes from. He has less hits than Holl, Liljegren and Sandin. He's got very good tools but he's really not a physical player at all.

The salary cap math on this says.....

He's big... and isn't bad in front of his own net, but that's about where it ends. Despite his size, he isn't a defensive, or shut down D, that people associate with that size.

At this point I'd be happy with Henrique (50%) and Garland (<4M). This shouldn't cost the Leafs a 1st or Knies/Minten/Niemela. The Leafs can run their current top 6D and top 6F and run a Knies-Henrique-Garland 3rd line. I'd also be good with a Garland/Hoglander for Kerfoot/Robertson swap.

honestly they kinda suck and will be inconsequential. Henrique has like 20 pts in 60 odd games in the playoffs.

Meh acquisitions at best imo. Does give us better bottom 6 depth though.

man paryako is so good - i am a HUGE parayko fan - on par with willy.

If we can trade for him id do it. Probably means kerfoot has to go for peanuts but w.e.

I'd imagine itd take a first +knies+niemala if that's even enough.
His play has fallen off a cliff over the past 2 seasons though.

The Parayko from 2-3 years ago, definitely - agreed. Right now there are some Blues fans are wondering what they would have to include to sweeten the pot to dump his contract.

He needs a Muzzin type beside him to be successful.

Parayko is a shell of his former self. The Avs dummied him the last two playoffs.

Being physical doesn't mean hitting... if its the case, hedman, doughty, pietrangelo, carlsson, josi or any elite D you want.are not more physical than rielly with similar hit/ 60 min or below rielly

Hitting is part of physicality. Let's not make up stuff. It's probably the only statistic related to physicality.

But if you want to make the argument he's physical but doesn't hit, go ahead, but you'd still be wrong that he's a physical defenseman. He is not. I don't even have to look at a single statistics to say this.

Also not sure why you're bringing Rielly into this. He's not physical at all either... Not sure what the point of that was. You're bringing up some defensemen that are not physical at all and yes, less than Rielly. Josi and Carlson in particular are defensemen everyone would consider soft if they played here but just because they are not micro watched like a Leafs player is, they make up things that are just not true.

Paraykos game has fallen off the last few seasons. I was a huge fan of getting him 2/3 years ago. Right now i am a little worried with his cap hit and current game.
