Meier 207 points, 254 games, PPG .81

If you look at career, Nylander .82, Meier .70

Sure one is a PF, but just looks like Nylander easily over $10mm minimum.

Willy going to get paid, either with the leafs, or someone else I think he will somewhere close to 12m plus

Nylander 2.16

Last 4 year
Meier 2.21 leader of his team
- only 2 player over 1.82 pts/60 minute played with at least 30 game played

Nylander 2.32 4th i his team ( matthews leader at 2.86)
-12 player over 1.82 pts/60 with at least 30 game with leafs

Who should really get the biggest credit for his offensive...

Posters don't want to spend 1st round picks or Knies on a good UFA which is fair, but don't expect the team to be able to trade for good players without doing so. Barbashev isn't a sexy name but he's not going to cost you a lot and is a upgrade on our 3rd line which some ability to score.
 
So if it's Clarke and a first the leafs had no chance to beat that offer. We don't have anyone on Clarkes level in our system

When it comes to production it is Nylander.
 
To say we didn't have a chance on Chychrun is an understatement lmao. Don't have an expendable piece close to Clarke. I can't wait to see how much more LA paid.

Who's the maniac that's going to give Nylander that? McKinnon resigned recently and got just over 12.5M but I'm supposed to believe Nylander is going to get 12M+?

That's a huge haul, our defense isn't bad enough to justify that even if we could compete with that return

If it LA great. I think it means that dubas wasn't going to mortgage the future.
We could have offered
Sandin knies and 2 1st
Iam so glad we weren't in the mix.

As long as knies in part of the deal then I am fine with trading for him.
Meiers @50% retained
For
1st (2023) + 1st (2024)

As long as we can trade him at the draft
We can offer 8 yr term to a team and maybe get our 1st back .

I don't even know if you can trade someone again that quick.

I mean he signed that this summer who is to say what will happen after next season with the Cap

I imagine we'd need more. They are likely looking for a combination of high picks and prospects that are closer to NHL ready. But I'm all on board this move and regaining our asset(s) in the summer. IMO Meier will return at least a 1st + back in the summer, so we're really not losing much, conceivably. If we can keep Knies out of the deal it's a huge win. Though it means Neimela is likely the prospect going the other way.

I'm kinda bout that there sire. Luke schenn or mccabe for the D. The name mccabe would also brang that pat quinn nostalgy big time foe us. Also uh, henrique or jeannot would be my first sucka choises for forwards. Then we would be set. For life. Korpisalo or vejmelka will be brought in if murray is still not sleeping and injured. We do exactly what we want and get whom ever we want. Period. The world is OURS

Clarke is an excellent prospect. Nobody would laugh about giving him up. He does seem a bit dopey sometimes, but he's still much better than any prospect we have
 
I don't think I'm huge on the Barbashev idea. I blindly liked him at first because of some his traits and his 2021-22 season, but now I'm not as sure. His underlyings suck, which could also turn the Leafs a different direction (I'm less hung up on that).

To me, paying for that tier of rental might not really worth it, but that tier of player is okay if they have term or will extend. I'd be looking to cover one of the middle 6 spots going into next year with the potential of all of Bunting, Kerfoot, Engvall, and Kampf heading to the market, rather than paying assets to just add another similar name to that list.

I guess so, you have your opinion I have mine, Nylander is an elite Talent getting better every season I mean he may not get 12 or maybe he will, lets see what happens, I doubt either you or me will remember us discussing this when he signs his new deal lol. so I doubt we will brag one way or the other lol

Meyer, Timo would totally kill in Toronto sire.... He is one of the best nhl players as we speak. Hard. He shoots the puck the most esolso. We would have the Owen nolan wendel Clark team then again.

If knies is on the table no deal, we have nobody in the system like him.

Neimela is fine We have Sandin similar player.

Unless Leafs win the Cup the next two years and Willie win one or both the Conn Smythe while also being a 40 goals scorer and over 90 pts both years. There is no way any GMs will offer him 12. 5mil or more a year in the near future.
