If the Chychrun trade request was a baby, it would be in daycare by now. Maybe the trade will actually happen by the time its kindergarten age. But mostly, I expect Chychrun to be a lifelong Coyote and break Shane Doan's games played record sometime in the 2030s.

Chychrun will finally be traded at the tender age of 42, then he'll finally be able to start his career anew.

All of LA's top prospects are playing in the AHL right now.

That leaves their NHL guys (Kaliyev, Byfield, Kupari, etc.) and their junior guys, which is headlined by Clarke, Pinelli, and then I guess Laferriere.

i disagree with most on here. Chychrun would have been a great impact addition We all get excited about forwards but impact D are game changers. Dubas needs to send a message that he is in this to win. We have seen with the Jays how adding meh depth does nothing for a clubhouse.

Was really hoping for Horvat, followed by Chych. Tarasenko as fallback option. And just like that they are all gone.

We don't have the luxury to make these types of moves. Probably don't even have the assets.

Barbashev, Laffery are the guys I feel we'll target and get one of them.

Chych was/is surplus to need, and we never had the space to extend Horvat, so he wasn’t coming here. Tank deal seemed like Dubas may have never even been called or known it was happening, but yes he was / is a great get, more so than ROR arguably. Looots of good names out there that fit our needs better though. Front and centre Timo Meier, who even as a rental then trade in summer would be excellent here.

With Friedman saying Kravtsov is once again available I wonder if we wouldn’t look at a swap for someone like Steeves or Anderson plus a pick. He’s still got quite a bit of upside.

Apparently Chychrun was spotted on a flight going from St. Louis to Colorado an hour before their game tonight. Next game in Colorado is Tuesday vs. The Bolts. Doesn't seem like he's a fit on either team though, so it's likely a connecting flight unless either team is moving out real money (and neither has the assets for it?).

Almost 100% the Leafs are out if it, if it's true. No reason he'd be flying west as the Leafs next game is at home vs. Chicago.

**someone posted on reddit about their buddy being on the same flight, it's not a credible source** (but the speculation is fun).

Random but Jake Muzzin and Kyle Clifford caught in LA actin wild.

Tarasenko has a NTC. He may have not wanted to come to Toronto.

Its hilarious that the bruins and Tampa have been so dominant last few years yet they have cap space and are in on so many players at the deadline where leafs are dying up upgrade but they can’t because they have no room

Oh ffs how about checking the facts before you post bullshits like this? The Leafs has literally more space than both of them

So the best overall player likely to be dealt is Karlsson. Read some talk that they want 3 1sts for him and will retain 20%. If they up that retention to 40% he becomes affordable to us and I think I move those picks.

Massive price and risky contract for a guy who doesn't fill a need for us.

I'm more interested in a guy like Jake McCabe. More reasonable acquisition cost, defensively sound, can play top shut down minutes against good players + PK, and is reasonably physical.

Oilers wants to recreate Gretzky and Coffeey era I say let them

Karlsson doesn't do anything for us

Adding your new #1 defenseman isn’t a surplus move.

Even if it's not Chychrun, Dubas needs to add an impact piece up front and a top 4 Dman with some size and physicality.

Every year we watch the Leafs acquire depth pieces (Gio was a decent add) while our competition loads up. Tampa grabbed Hagel and Paul last year. Boston added Lindholm, Colorado added Manson and Lekhanen among others.

It seems like these teams go for it while Toronto just sits and waits. Dubas is in his last year of his deal and the team has had no success. You'd think he'd be all in. Let's hope he makes some big moves. I'd love to see ROR, Gavrikov and a bottom 6 guy with some physicality.

Chychrun is best at things we already have plenty of and don’t need more of. Not hard to understand. Of course if you replace Sandin with Chychrun it makes us better offensively, but does not address DZ strength, physicality, grit, PK%, or the need for a top6 LW. Players costing less but filling those needs are much more likely to have a greater overall impact.

chychrun is as close of a #1 than trouba, dumba OEL was at 24...even arizona dont see him like a #1 because if it was the case, Never thet would try to move a 23-24 #1 D since 2 years...

If he become #1 of a contender, i just can tell you this team is in real trouble. If he's a complementary piece of a top 4, its perfect

I'm hoping the Oilers go through with it. The team is low on depth as is, and will have to deal pieces away to add Karlsson. McDavid, Draisaitl and Karlsson are tire fires defensively, and with no stay at home D on the back end, it could be fun to watch.

Dubas went all in 2 years ago
