What would it take?
A vaccination, and a trade. The vaccination isn't going to happen... It's been said by a number of people, that if he plays for a Canadian team, he can't travel to the States, without a vaccination... so it seems to be a dead deal.

That's still a thing?
When we headed down to the game in Columbus no one asked us about vaccinations.

Just travelling is nowhere near the same as a working visa and changing countries where you "live" or work.

I'm not familiar at all with that stuff but seems really not comparable at all.

I don't think any defenseman will be moved. I think they'd like to avoid playing Timmins in the playoffs
I would say they didn't trade Schenn for him to sit and he can't play ahead of Brodie or Lily. It really seems like they have to move one and it would be Holl over the other two. He has too much value to tie him up as spot use insurance. I think Timmins may spot in for Schenn but we will have to see. Schenn only played around 10:00 TOI on the Tampa clubs. Also Gustafsson is now the Leafs top scoring D man and if they don't move him they are still 4 deep on the left so they have potential to move one of their lefties to the off side if needed. Too many bodies.

Is he not at least a permanent resident of the USA? He should have the ability to re-enter his country of residence even if he’s temporarily working from his job’s Canadian office for a few months.

I think Schenn and Gustafsson are insurance in case of injuries, or based on need. Schenn could be a #7 D, and go with 11F 7D at times. But we aren't likely to move Holl, to insert Schenn in the lineup, that would be mistake.

Why even compare the two? If we add anyone, I don’t think Kerfoot is going anywhere.

For cap hit, I think he has to. We are at the body in, body out stage.

Oh damn, I thought that was over for some reason.

Just looked it up and, yea, the US is one of the last (and the last western nation) in the world to still have the requirement (although it may be lifted soon).

Guess we looking elsewhere.

Only 12 forwards? I mean that's who is on the roster. There is also Holmberg, McMann, Abruzzese, Simmonds, Clifford, Steeves as depth. Plus the Knies signing. No, I don't expect to see Clifford in the playoffs.. but Seravalli seems to have forgotten a bunch of people.
Yeah true.

If Dubas trades again there is still quite a bit he could do to get a fairly good player using the farm forwards, picks, or d depth.

There's plenty of options at least.

I don’t see many of those other than Holmberg as viable playoff options

Of course he should be moved. He serves absolutely no purpose on this team anymore and the only justifications given are:

- "But the team likes him" - So what, I'm sure they liked everyone else sent packing.
- "He can play anywhere in the lineup" - Actually he can't and has unperformed on all assignments given this season. That 3.5m can be used on a legit bottom six LW in the Acciari, Lafferty mold + whatever left over on a legit backup goaltender or D.

The Engvall & Sandin moves gives me hope that Dubas will properly fill each and every spot with the best possible fit he can find.

I do think we are likely to bring in another body... but Holmberg was quite capable... McMann provides some energy... Simmonds some face punching, if we get desperate for more Face punch/60... and of course Knies is that magical mystery box. So it's not like we are desperate to bring in another forward, at least not for the reasons mentioned by Seravalli. Plus, odds are, if we bring in a body, one is going out... so there is that too, though it could be a D out... who knows at this point. I'm going to go into a coma here today... no trades yet!!!
