Kerfoot does seem like he's on his way out, playing fourth line duties recently, them bringing in Lafferty who seems like a more gritty/physical version of him.

Edmonton come on down?

Just listened to Chris Johnston's podcast post McCabe/Lafferty trade. He mentioned that teams have reached out to the Leafs about some of their pending UFAs (Kerfoot, Holl, Engvall).
I can see Kerfoot going for a 1st, 2nd and 3rd at the deadline.

Doesn’t seem like Dubas wants to trade many players from the roster. I wonder if something along the lines of Kerfoot for Boeser (retained).
How about

Kerfoot
Holl

For

Soucy
3rd/4th Rounder

The cost to upgrade Holl to Soucy (slight upgrade, if at all), a mid pick, and get the cap space we need is Kerfoot.

This leaves with a million more in room and an open roster spot because we just went two for one.

Reilly Brodie
Gio McCabe
Soucy Liljegren
Sandin

If Dubas can turn Kerfoot into something that would be great. Boeser (retained) would be interesting. Does Vancouver want to get out of his contract that bad though?

I'd keep Giraffe over Kerfoot for depth. Cheaper and more likely to get better results imo.

It's probably best they keep Holl for depth as well, but he's likely the most valued out of the 3,so maybe Dubas moves him and tries to recoup some value.

Vancouver apparently was willing to retain on Boeser but I don’t think they value him cheaply, they want a solid return.

I really feel Dubas's end game is to "Kutcherov" Murray, gain cap space while giving him ample time to recover.

I think, depending on the picks you give to the Jackets, you still may get Korpi without having to pawning off Murrays contract to them.

How bout the choice of Woll/Kalgren, 2023 5th, 2024 5th add Alex Steeves if need be just to score the dealio

Samsonov
Murray
Korpi

Be a solid add.

Just curious if it fell through how much Vejmelka would cost?
Pawning him off now means we don't have to worry about it in the off-season.

I just love how Hockey Twitter thinks that the Leafs would have to pay to move Kerfoot...

It is hilarious how long retention and cap management has been a thing and fans still have no idea.

He's a lovely cap filler to get back, he's like 200-300k real cash left.

He’s been a #6 for Vancouver and struggled.
I know Ive followed him closely the whole season. Their whole team has been catastrofic defensively. Miller played his worst season yet too. No goaltending. No backcheck. Awful team. Schenn's been iron solid though. Fighting and dirt.

Poor Chychrun might be stuck going to Edmonton after all the East teams made moves, unless Carolina can get something done. I'd be so pissed if I was him. Asked for a trade last year and doesn't get traded and then misses time with an injury and comes back and plays well just to be sitting this entire month and still no trade done.

To Toronto-
Chychrun
Hayton
Vejmelka

To Arizona-
2024 1st Round Pick
Sandin
Knies
Murray
Kerfoot

him, lebrun, and weekes are probably the only insider since mckenzie I think has intel that isn't completely blowing air.

I think this is a off-season move. The teams I think that'll be in on it would be like the capitals, ducks or the sens?

Bunting Matthews Marner
Jarnkrok Tavares Nylander
Lafferty O'Reilly Boeser
Zar Kampf Acciari

Reilly Brodie 26 mins
McCabe Liljegren 24 mins
Gio Holl 10 mins
