Just listened to Chris Johnston's podcast post McCabe/Lafferty trade. He mentioned that teams have reached out to the Leafs about some of their pending UFAs (Kerfoot, Holl, Engvall).

A lot of teams would like Holl especially
He's big, mobile, shoots right and can take tough usage

There aren't a lot of those around

Deslauriers is signed until 2026 for just under 2M. He's 32 years old.

Both Acciari and Hathaway are 31 year old pending UFA and potential rentals.

Jeannot is a 25 year old pending RFA currently making $800k and will be signed to a long-term cost controllable contract. If TB signed him for 6 years he would be Accari/Hathaway age at completion.

Or he takes them to arbitration and heads to ufa after another year.

Kerfoot or Holl seem very realistic candidates to say the least. Wonder how McDavid will feel if that's the main help he gets?

The first 2 players are all about THIS playoff year, while the TB situation is a long-term play over many playoffs (once re-signed).

Or he's just not worth signing

If his production doesn't pick up I wouldn't want to give him his next deal, I'd cut my losses but they gave up a ton for him so I'm not sure they could even if they wanted to

Vatrano would be a solid pickup if Anaheim is willing to retain. We’d just need to trade Kerfoot for a couple draft picks to whoever gives the best offer.

Replacing Kerfoot with a 50% retained Vatrano would save us about 1.7 million, after sending Woll down to the AHL we would be cap compliant once Murray comes off LTIR.
