Is Ekberg a center. Everything I rad has him as a winger in all the stats I see. The nhl drft has him as a winger. That may have been part of the problem. If he plays well on the wing then leave him there and let him form a line with lets say Whitehead that can score goals.

The issue I see is that no one on the coching staff has devekoped any of these players as scorers. They are too worried from what I see from stats and see heere that theywill get benched.

I am sorry but I think that this team has to get beck to what it has always done well and tht is score goals and lay tough 200 hockey

We used to be the team that developed strong centers that played 2 way hockey now we seem to be the place that centers come to die.

We’re the team where wingers come to play centre! :naughty:

Surely Pinelli will be suspended prior to tonights puck drop right? I know the league can be very inconsistent with their punishments but there's no way he doesn't serve sometime for that hit right?

Does it matter? A 5-1 win vs 8-1 win?

You know I wish I could confidently agree with you but seeing how Oshawa played against Guelph and Peterborough recently and missing Sennecke tonight...thus game may be a lot different than most would predict.

Wait until you see the posted lineup tonight before you set that in stone. Ottawa is missing a ton of bodies…. They squeezed out a win vs Guelph for their 2nd win this calendar year on Sunday. Even with Pinelli int he lineup, Ottawa isn’t winning much at least until they get a handful of players back in the lineup.

If Pinelli is out of the lineup tonight and both Dever and Foster remain out, the three centres will be Barlas, Whitehead and Houben. We may not have six D-Men dressed and if we do, it is likely an affiliate player dresses as #6. If I had to guess, Ottawa will have at least four affiliate players dressed tonight and that is likely with 16 skaters.

Not that Oshawa is equally as hindered by any means but I will note that Oshawa is not only without Sennecke tonight but Oshawa has also recalled Brady Blaseg from Carlton Place Canadiens for tonights game. Likely means Luca D'Amato remains out.

I can also see Oshawa giving Gravelle another go either tonight or Friday.

I'm definitely not disagreeing that Oshawa should win tonight. Problem is, Oshawa has lost a few games this year they "should've" won. Consistency has been their biggest weakness for a roster this talented.

Anything less than a 5 goal win is an embarrassment with Ottawa posted lineup. If you give up more than one goal, you should be ashamed of yourselves! Two affiliate players in the lineup and still only dressing 16 skaters. No Pinelli, Foster, Kingwell, Dever, Amidovski, nor Jackson. That doesn’t include the trade of Mews!

It is very likely the Petes pass Ottawa soon.

The lineup Ottawa will be icing this week as a result of injuries, trades, and suspensions, is the worst in the league by a mile.

I predicted 5 games the second after I saw the replay. If he wasn’t a skill player, then maybe as many as 10 games but I think they will go easy on him because the player finished the game.

Again, we agree Oshawa should win this game handedly but Oshawa has embarrassed themselves more than once this season so it's not out of the realm of possibility

I could win the 6-49 tonight. It’s not out of the realm of possibility. I’d say the odds of the two are pretty close! If @ScoutLife4 wants to put $100 on Ottawa to win tonight, I would make that bet!

Thanks for reminding me to get my ticket. Out of curiosity, what are your numbers? 😉

4-0 shots 23-6
5-0 shots 28-7
after 2, 5-0 shots 34-7

Ottawa 67's Goalies

Just wondering why DC does not make the lines that will be here next year and start letting them get to know each other.

Pineli Dever Foster
Ekberg Whitehead Kelly
Yanni Houben Korbler
Barlas Amidovski horner

Let's face it: We are not going to be a power, so we might as well give everyone equal TOI to prepare for next year.

Caledon is in last place so we should see Bonomo soon in camp I would think

Well, first of all, half of those guys are injured and out of the lineup….

Korbler wont be back. Dever and Foster won’t be playing with Pinelli next year. Odds are pretty good that both Barlas and Horner won’t’ be here so I guess I don’t’ understand your lines.

If we are supposed to play lines that will be back next year then the lines would be something like:

Pinelli - Barlas - Horner
Ekberg - Foster - Kelly
Yanni - Dever - Kingwell
Amidovski - Whitehead - Houben
Korbler doesn’t see the ice the remainder of the season. Guys like Souliere, Bowes, and Perrier would play as the extra forwards when needed.

I know we are not highly talented but when we are missing 3 of our top 5 scorers Pinelli, Foster, Deaver, a rookie who was showing positive signs, Amidovski and Jackson a defenseman who was just coming into his own so things are not good.

At one point last night I said to my wife someone should tell the 67s it is okay to come out of your own end and cross the blue line. All kidding aside we are presently the worst team in the OHL and I hope we miss the playoffs. Please do not give us false hope and just squeeze into a playoff spot as it will be short lived.

This is the part of the cycle that sucks. Some inadequate drafting. Some ill advised buy strategies over multiple seasons instead of making a push one season can make it even more difficult. A few players choosing not to return also makes it difficult. Maybe some poor roster selections along the way. They all contribute to what we see now.

It is what it is. It is unfortunate we didn’t see deadline activity like we saw last year. A bigger push the previous season followed by a minor reboot last year would have been a better strategy in hindsight. Let’s hope we learn from our mistakes.
