Trades and Free Agency - 2022/2023 Trade Deadline Edition

It's possible. Could technically be Holl too, as he would free up enough to activate Murray and sign Knies also.

I think they like Kampf-Engvall together. They are very effective. Kerfoot a better bet for offense.

Overall point, we ain't done. Not unless Murray has had a major setback they haven't told us

Maybe I'm blocked from the trade thread, but that's how you trade a 1st. A top-4 defenseman wasn't a need, but a top-4 defensive guy that's almost Muzzin-esque signed at 2M for 3 playoff runs is great value. Lafferty is also more than good enough to take over for a ZAR. Feels like much better value than the ROR trade. Anderson I didn't like how we were giving him away for nothing so I'm glad we used him for value even if it was little. Gogolev is nothing, arguably the worst prospect left attached to us.

We're around 1M over the cap so something will have to be done. I'd finally be okay with moving out Holl or Kerfoot at this point because we have replacements for them. Engvall to me is still a no-go as he's too important, but its gotta be one of those guys (or Sandin, I guess) for us to reactivate Murray.

At this point why hold onto the 24 1st?

Package it with Sandin and Kerf or Engvall for even more.
 
crazy to think how many picks have been traded between Leafs and Lightening and one will be out first round.
I guess Bettman likes these arms races?

McCabe can play the right side as well... so you could end up with pairings a bit different.

Move out Holl and Kerfoot... if you are trading with Vancouver, I can see a path for adding Schenn now... I didn't before.. but you move out Holl, and bring in Schenn's physicality, it's not a terrible thing. Kerfoot + Holl for Schenn + 2nd/3rd.... move that pick for Comtois, and take a chance on him.... or maybe Schenn + Hoglander?

to be fair, this feels like the craziest deadline so far.

Still some big names that will (Kane to NYR) or could be moved too.
