Why is there a notion that Tom Wilson is available? I feel like I'm missing something.
Highly doubt he’s available.

But Caps are pretty much out of the playoff picture and he has one more year before becoming a UFA. Most likely they’ll just end up re-signing him. But he’s a big Leafs fan/local guy and a perfect fit for us so just wishful thinking lol.

The reaction to Tampa adding a penalty machine is hilarious.

Go get us a defenseman, and maybe another energy forward, and line that *hit up.

McCabe becomes that LHD, Brodie stays where he is, Gio drops to third pair.
So we are going to pay a premium to bring in the best option on D, only to immediately shift him to RHD, where he has not played? If you bring in McCabe, you play him on LHD to get the most value for him, particularly if you are giving up Sandin as part of the deal.

Can we just stop kicking this can of a having a true RHD down the road, and finally address it properly? There are viable options now available. I'm tired of every year a Top 4RHD being on Dubas' "Get List". Just get one now and get on with it.....

Maybe famous last words for me, but Jeannot doesn't alarm me at all.

I would have liked him, but I would have been livid if we ponied up what Tampa did, and I'd much rather they deplete their draft picks for him than us.

I'd rather a smart trade to improve our Defence for a player that I just don't think is going to tip the balance of the series in Tampa's favor. I have a feeling that Jeannot is going to lead the series in PIM's and my hope is our PowerPlay makes each one of them count.

Much happier with Acciari and ROR, now we just need to get an upgrade on RHD.

We got both of them again for way less then I'd expect. Considering some of the prices that have been happening. Still quite a few draft picks but this is the all in move... and I would think now there has to be another guy or two going out.

It's great to have depth but I'd imagine we may be shipping guys out now too.

Makes sense but hopefully that falls through. I think Friedman had mentioned that they'd look at extending Jensen, Gustafsson, & TVR but likely at least 1 gets moved... Jensen is on another level from Gustafsson & TVR.

Leafs should be in on Gudas if he were made avalible, have their been any extension talks with Gudas or confidence that he'd resign? Looks like Florida has a lot more cap flexibility this upcoming season.
I doubt y'all are interested in him anymore, but limited discussions. I think the issue is term: Florida probably doesn't want another 3 year contract at a higher rate which he could get on the market.

This certainly helps the leafs - exactly what they needed...Were the Toronto prospects anything special?

All that is missing is a VET Goalie.

Nope .. Anderson isn't waiver exempt next year, and hasn't run away with a spot (he's behind some others on the depth chart) and Gogolev has struggled this year to be decent in the AHL.

Is it wrong that I still want Jensen?

Rielly-Jensen
McCabe-Liljegren
Gio-Brodie
Sandin-Timmins

Holl and one of Kerfoot or Engvall has to be gone this TDL. They just have to go now.

Love that we got Lafferty. ROR, Acciari and Lafferty are players I would have been thrilled to get 1 of, let alone both, while holding onto our top prospects.

Dubas has very well thus far, and if we don't get past the 1st round, the blame will be on Keefe and the players.

I love this trade. Who is going out the door to clear cap? Maybe another move? They can package Sandin+24 1st+Kerfoot and make another real add.
Its a good question, my quick math as a Cap non-expert says we will need to shed just about 1 million in cap to activate Murray.

Could possibly try and sneak ZAR through waivers but I don't think that would be quite enough anyway.

Looks like someone's gotta go, a forward (Kerfoot seems like the odd man out) seems most likely. Ship him out West to recoup a pick or two?
