This is incredibly dismissive and out of touch. This guy fits our need for top-6 PWF LW to a glove, and you somehow thing those that are unhappy he's going to a direct rival we're likely to play in the first round is 'just complaining'? get a grip.

He's got 5 goals in 56 games and we're lamenting that he's a "top 6 PWF" that the Preds are just giving away? There's nothing confirmed and certainly isn't something to lament about. The Leafs probably called and probably couldn't get something done? We'll see.

The irony of telling someone to get a grip about this lol

Guy is a young PWF on a dirt cheap deal. Likely retainable going into next year as well. If he goes for cheap, there’s no reason why we couldn’t have acquired him.

5’10” afraid of contact Alex Kerfoot is making 3.5m on our fourth line.

Why would he go dirt cheap and the deadline is still days away.

I don't understand with the complete drooling for Jeannot around here. It's insane.

Yah man. They also waived Tolvanen who's been the top scorer for Seattle since getting picked up on waivers - 10 in his last 25 - maybe you should consider there's more to s productivity than just what's on the stat line.

Kerfoot has 7 goals and has spent quite a lot of time in the top 6 this year. Five foot Ten.

Is the NHLPA ok with this? I can't see how this is good for the game or the players. Outlandish really.

I think these deals are done, but cap needs a few days to be worked out.

So it's ugly but it only way it could be done

I didn't say he was a bad player. I'm just saying he's not that good offensively. He's got tools. He's fine. You guys are losing your minds over it and the trade isn't even official.

I didn't say Kerfoot was good. Kerfoot can also do circles on Jeannot defensively.

You're implying he wouldn't be a great f***ing fit on this team. that he's not the exact type of add the top-9 needs. If he isn't the player then who better fits the bill? Dude is tough as nails and can score. You want patty Kane?

Who cares what Kerfoot makes. Like that means SFA.

Never knew we had so many petulants on here.
Eh people have a right to be worried about the softness of this team. And some people here acting as if jeannot isn't a big add by a division rival..... That's the other side of petulant lol. We gotta find a middle ground between petulance and ignorance from both sides.

Although it's tdl so I'm gna whine everytime we don't do something;) part of the fun

Jeannot is so overrated lol.

Want to know why he scored last year? Because he shot 19%. It was a heater. He’s scoring at a more normal rate, and look at his production.

Look at his Team Relative stats and they are all negative, even last year.

Why do you think Nashville is trading him.

I didn't imply anything. You just went banana's and assumed everything and told me to get a grip weirdly enough. The poster I quoted complained that we have Kerfoot instead of trading for Jeannot, and I pointed out that it's absurd to get upset about it when it's not done and there's a lot of time to see how it plays out. We can't just go out and acquire every good tough guy, but I'm the one that's being dismissive lol

Jeannot if he ends in Tampa makes me go from Toronto in 7 to Tampa in 7

Hope knies comes up and is a good 2rd liner right away to swing that back to Toronto in 7

There should be absolutely no expectations from Knies. Very rarely does a college player comes up during playoffs and has an impact

Only player I can think off is maybe Eric Cole back in 2001

EDIT: Eric Cole was also from IHL.

Then we should be looking to add a guy like Domi to the team.

Think we need another top 9 player who has speed and some grit

The last line is so silly.

Why did Nashville waive tolvanen then?
Smh

You can't dismiss the stat line either though. He's not a 20% shooter as we was last year. He's just not that level of player (Matthews/Drai).

I'd much rather go after a guy with a lower price tag and a more reasonable expectation of the kind of production we'd get.(Deslauriers or Mcbain)

Completely ignoring the stats eh. Smart!

Tolvanen’s numbers were much better than Jeannot’s. It was called a dumb move right away.

Tanner Jeannot is not Tolvanen lmao.

What a ridiculous comparison

Tampa has such a nasty and tenacious team.

Jeannot, Hagel, Nick Paul, Maroon, Perry, Cirrelli, Cernak, Sergachev, Bogosian, Ian Cole.

Oooof

Jeannot is not very good this year. Certainly not enough to move the needle like that.
He's the exact type of player who's gonna finish the game with 10 hits and score 2 goals and the game-winning goal in game 7
