I remember all the hype when Nino was drafted. He never lived up to the hype.

He's always been a very good middle-6 W with a strong analytical profile. The scoring was always decent too, but IIRC his passing metrics are abysmal. Held him back from being the elite player he could have been.

I didn’t see that. I imagine Kerfoot and Sandin or Holl go the other way, softens the price a bit, but yeah likely also involves a 2024 1st and one of Neimela or Knies. It’s def an all-in move.

I mean, their top-6 F costs the same as our top-4 F so 6 good players are better and worth more than 4 elite players who are better than every single one of their 6. It's called simple math, we as stupid Leaf fans don't get it.

He was just signed in UFA for nothing, so NSH is probably happy either way.

He does score goals and can play a bit of a gritty game, but he hasn't been great in the playoffs and he is a pure offense guy who is only putting up 0.5 PPG overall.

He may have been able to command another mid-round pick on top of it, but WPG's 2nd in 2024 may be higher than most other team's who had any interest too so that is probably the difference.
