I would say there is zero chance Columbus accepts that.

Hopefully he comes to us. Lol

I think all the signs are pointing to him going to the Rags. Kakko for Kane as a base would make a lot of sense for both teams, and Rags have a lot of picks left to smooth out the retention piece.

I like you thinking big, but at least throw Columbus our first next year to balance it out a little :)

I see it more as Minny provided a service of cap retention and they bought themselves a pair of draft picks for very little real money remaining on those contracts.
More teams should be as smart as Minny's Gm Guerin to help other make trades that lack cap space if they have lots themselves.
Yep, it's certainly smart to do like Minny's GM Guerin and Toronto's GM Dubas have done, and utilize their cap space when possible to retain as a 3rd party and pick up picks!

I see that Kasperi Kapanen has been placed on waivers by the Penguins. Since our bottom six is still on the poopy side with scrubs like Aston Reese getting regular minutes, Dubas should have a talk with whatever team has first crack at him on waivers. He could say to them, take Kapanen off waivers and eat half his contract and we'll give you some assets. He's making 3.2 million and is signed for next year too, so it would be worth looking at depending on the price. I always thought he could be a big game player and it would be nice to get him back into the fold. Thoughts?

Meh, if a team / teams eat a good amount of his salary, I may consider replacing Engvall with him. He won't replace anyone else in the lineup. But we have bigger needs.

Still holding hopes for Kane to Leafs. We have Robertson and Topi

He's better than Aston Reese, for certain and that's good enough for me. That guy is an absolute scrub that doesn't belong on the 4th line of any team, let alone a contender. Getting Kapanen at a discounted cap hit this year and next would be super valuable, and I think he'd respond to coming back here now in a really positive way.

Pass on Mango and Kapanen. If Brown signs for close to the min sign me up.
I wouldn't mind Johnsson. I'd assume it would be league minimum and he goes down to the Marlies if he doesn't fit. I think Brown will get 1.5-2M in UFA. Not sure when the last time a player missed nearly a whole season going into UFA.

I am hoping for Brown signing League min with the Leafs. Have a great season and sign elsewhere for a big contract.

62 games played, with 20 points, decent defensively and room to grow, signed for 1.1 the next two years, I think Conor Timmins has shown enough this year to be seriously considered by other teams in a trade by the Leafs for an upgrade. I wouldn't want to move him, but if I'm the GM of another team Conor Timmins is a name I'd be asking about from the leafs.

He may not have the value of a Knies or Sandin, or a 1st, but he might be our next best trade chip if Dubas is making another move.

I think Kapanen's pretty bad as evidenced by him being on waivers. I could see a scenario bringing him back on a league minimum problem child contract like Galchenyuk though.

Watching Livingstone I would imagine.

Or he really likes Ryan O'Connell
What's the book on Livingston? His stats + size + RHD package appears to be really good, but maybe he's an awful skater with limited NHL upside.

Is he considered a league-wide top undrafted UFA with legit NHL upside?

Florida lost again. They're the new team to watch as they should be clearly selling like the Capitals. They falling further and further away from a playoff spot, with multiple teams either ahead or between them

Gudas + Bennett or just individualy I can see being targets

Any upgrade would have to be quite affordable in turn because Timmins being locked in for 1.1 M per for two seasons is great value for Toronto if he can maintain a regular role.
