Kane on the move soon.
guessing the Rangers. Kravtsov as part of the return
Kane on the move soon.
Easy pass for me as well.Never impressed by Kapanen.
His brain didn’t work fast enough to keep up with his feet.
Add to it some attitude issues and was never a fan and was glad we got what we got from the Pens.
Big no here.
can say the same about people who want to hold onto dusters like Kerfoot and Holl. What is it with people wanting players back who were part of the problem in years gone by?

You see people actively arguing to hold onto Kerfoot and Holl?can say the same about people who want to hold onto dusters like Kerfoot and Holl.
Not Schenn and I still don't see why the media keep hyping Schenn up.You see people actively arguing to hold onto Kerfoot and Holl?
Oddly, I see people wanting to move on from them, and somehow thinking that Kapanen and Schenn are the answers.
In that context, I would keep them too.
Personally, I don't want any of them. I have been advocating for a Kerfoot + 2 prospects for Jensen and Sheary.

Kap is interesting due to his speed and he did scored some big goals early in his career. The one in WJC and he scored one against the Caps too, where Boyle made a great play.

I think whenever a team, esp a playoff team is waiving a youngish player with terms and reasonable contract, that player got issues. He had a lot of hype, but just never panned out. Need to move on.
He was part of the problem when he was here, so I am not exactly going out on a limb by saying that if the Pens are waiving him, he won't be the answer here if he came back either.
Guaranteed if Holl goes, a couple years down the line some would want him back. We've seen this with almost every former Leaf player. They are part of the problem/stink while here, and they should be shipped out immediately, but then they are missed when they are gone. I'm not talking about just the Kadri or Hyman types that make sense. I am talking about literally everyone. What is it with people wanting players back who were part of the problem in years gone by?
I get personal preference, but looking objectively from the Leafs perspective, with both Johnsson and Kapanen being waived, I think the Leafs are happy with their choice and IMO they made the correct one.I don't think Kapanen is any answer though. I just thought out of Kapanen, Johnsson and Kerfoot that Kapanen should've been the one they kept. Personal preference is all.

Oh right....that just jogged that memory. Swing and a miss. lolPart of the problem was during his first call up he went on an unsustainable shooting spree where he potted a bunch of goals. Didn't last, but I remember an awful lot of "Kapanen has made Nylander expendable posts" back then

Since Kapanen/Johnsson were traded, Kerfoot has put up better production, is better defensively, and has more positional versatility than those 2 as he can play C in a pinch.
That also had to do with all hatred from the medias on Willie and how his dad will have such a huge influences on him.... while also Willie was holding out and both Kap and AJ was doing well with AM. On top of having Brown, MM, Hyman and Kadri with JT to round out the top 9. Also people were hyping Leivo too.Part of the problem was during his first call up he went on an unsustainable shooting spree where he potted a bunch of goals. Meanwhile... Kerfoot has put up 110 points since Kap was moved, and Kapanen 82... while Kerfoot has also had the ability to play C. Kerfoot was unquestionably the right player to keep.
Brown is the guy I missed the most out of the group of guys that left.Absolutely correct. I just think we're missing some of the things Kapanen was good at. I always thought of Hyman, Brown and Kapanen as the diggers on the top 3 lines would look good. I'd take any of them back at any time. Everybody sees players in a slightly different light. Personally I think Kapanen just wants to be in Toronto and could turn out to be a really good 3rd liner.
Bunting Matthews Nylander
XXX Tavares Marner
Knies O'Reilly Kapanen
Aston-Reese Kampf Acciari
LW could be all changed around. I'm not even against 91 90 16 on the 2nd line and Kerfoot 3C or even Kampf really. Engvall could be in for Reese. All kinds of options. I don't think Kapanen would be handed a spot. But he'd have to work for it.
Kapanen played with Malkin for quite a bit of time, until it was shown he just wasn't good enough. If you can't take advantage of that opportunity, it's not going to work anywhere.Absolutely right. But had Kerfoot been moved and Kapanen kept then maybe the numbers are reversed. Maybe Kapanen could've taken another step. Look I'm not in love with Kapanen or anything, I just liked him as a player and I think he is better on this team than he would be on any other because I think he didn't want to go.
