Yeah Timmins didn't help himself at all. Not good enough defensively and not physical enough to be in the playoff lineup. Too mistake-prone.

Sandin is obviously crucial but I think it's obvious the leafs are going to be adding a defenseman now for better depth

The more I think about it, I really want Holmberg, McMann and Anderson to play and train with guys like ROR and esp Acciari to learn how to play the bottom 6 roles, bc we really don’t have players like that. Spezza was great but he was a top player and ended up being 4th liner due to age.

O Reilly is younger than Tavares

Yeah I really don't see Nashville retaining 2M for the next 3 years. They won't have a problem finding a trading partner for Ekholm. Without retention I think it's at the very least close to fair value.

Yep, even if you don't see him in the top 4, which I don't know one way or the other, it isn't like they've a bunch of NHL capable defenders 22 years old pounding on the door.

He's their youngest regular player in the line-up.

And he is a NHL player.

As good as Giordano is, he'll be 40 to start next season.

Need a definitive upgrade, on a controlled contract to consider moving players they'll need due to Cap implications and playing ability.

Would be a nice add to our top 6 especially if ROR does infact move down to 3rd line C.

Ya they certainly could but I think I'd bet against it at this point.

His value is certainly going up from where it was a few weeks ago with every game.

I do not want to move Sandin at all. Guy is playing like a legitimate top 4 D, and is young with cost control. You should not be trading him unless you get a clear top pairing level guy with term.

I could definitely see them doing this but it also could just be a GM saying one thing with the end game being something else. Heck we literally just saw Dubas say he wouldn't make a move for a certain player and a week or so later, make that exact move.

Man if Connor Brown didn’t get a season ending injury, he would have been the perfect fit for this roster. He’d fit pretty nicely on the third line with O’Reilly.

Who would Schenn play ahead of?

He isn’t playing ahead of Rielly, Liljegren, Brodie or Giordano FOR SURE. That leaves Sandin, Holl and Timmins.

The only player you can make an argument he’s better than is Timmins. Who happens to be our 7th defenceman.

I don’t get the Schenn love. With a healthy blueline, he doesn’t even crack this teams top six… And then you still have Timmins, Benn and Mete from #7-9.

Doesn’t appear to be many quality depth Defencemen on the market they can get for a 3rd/4th round pick.

I dig this, might have to add but negotiations sometimes hammer it out and we see the adds it takes to pry players.
One other player on my wish list if say we could get Calgary to retain would be Milan Lucic. He'd surely be a beast for us in this upcoming run.
