Having five good defense would be a nice problem to have. I think we'd probably run three more balanced pairs, with nobody on their off-side, or at least I would. We're also likely to have a defenseman go down with an injury at some point, so I don't think we'd have trouble supplying ice time.

Would love Jenner, doubt Cbj even considers moving him though.

He's a year away from free agency and Columbus looks like a bit of a sinking ship. They might not be confident they can re-sign him (similar to us trading for Muzzin from LA).

Yeah, that is brutal......Would Kerfoot return anything close to that? Note that Kerfoot plays C, but Rakell is strictly a W.

2018/19 - Rakell - 43 points
2019/20 - Rakell - 42 points

2018/19 - Kerfoot - 42 points
2019/20 - Kerfoot - 28 points (missed time with a broken face and played most of the year with a full face shield)

Kerfoot - $3.5 million - 26 years old
Rakell - $3.8 million - 27 years old.

It's absolutely insane at how overrated Rakell gets on the main trade boards.

You'd think he was a PPG 1C based on some of those demands lol

Feel like there might also be some players which haven't been mentioned in the Media yet. Someone unknown.

I hope Dubas has called on Miles Wood

Also, depending on how the stars do....Blake Comeau would be a great bottom 6 target

If Ekholm is available, you do whatever you can to get him. While our offense hasn't been the greatest lately, our defense still remains our weakness. Adding Ekholm will put us in the top 5 defenses in the league while still having a solid offense.

To Toronto-
Ekholm 50%
Granlund

To Nashville-
Kerfoot
Holl
Abramov
1st Round Pick

Hyman-Matthews-Marner
Granlund- Tavares-Nylander
Mikheyev-Engvall-Simmonds
Thornton-Spezza-Galchenyuk

Ekholm-Rielly
Muzzin-Brodie
Dermott-Bogosian

Ekholm would be a fantastic D insurance just in case one of the big guys get hurt, while also being a significant upgrade over a few guys in the group.

I doubt you'd get Ekholm without including more. Pretty much a guarantee they'd ask for one of the top 4 prospects. And maybe it's just me, but I'd rather have Dermott in that proposal over Holl. Dermott is as good as gone in expansion anyways.

Ok, I’m glad I’m not the only one.

From some of the proposals their fans have scoffed at, I’d have zero interest.
The trolls have taken over any Leafs trade thread. It’s gone the way of the mainboards. A lot of the posters don’t even know our prospects they are just there to get reactions. Until there is competent moderation there, it is useless. An intelligent conversation about Leafs trades is impossible.

What do yoj mean insurnace? On many nights he'd be the teams best D

Is there a general consensus of our top prospects? I know it was voted on but things may have changed since. Maybe a top 6 and where our 1st round pick would compare?

Most would agree our top 4 consists of Amirov, Liljegren, Robertson and Sandin. The 1st round pick would likely slide in right below them. Next tier includes players like Abruzzese, Abramov, Hallander, Hirvonen, Kokkonen, Niemela

Trade Bait: Kerfoot, Toronto's top prospects join the mix - TSN.ca

Kyle Dubas was open about his desire to add to the Leafs roster prior to the deadline and his willingness to part ways with a high-end prospect to make that happen. Frank Seravalli joins Gino Reda to discuss his updated Trade Bait list, which now has Toronto’s top prospects in the eight spot, and why Alex Kerfoot has been added to the mix.

All this talk from Dubas about willing to move a top prospect is scaring me. :( I would rather wait until Simmonds returns and play Gally and Robertson than trade for another forward unless he was a Hyman kind of player.

Other than that I'd rather Dubas make acquiring a good goalie a high priority because that's what the team needs most. Add a decent Dman that doesn't cost much and call it a day. Keep our best prospects and let them PLAY FOR US than moving them. I don't know why we need to go into a more win now mode when we're starting to build a nice pipeline of good young players that can step up and replace current players on the team if they get moved/get too expensive.

Has a huge frame (6-4, 215 pounds), puck-moving ability and a big shot from the point. Usually keeps his game very simple and minimizes his mistakes. Owns all-round acumen. Does not have a lot of grit or toughness, so he does not always take full advantage of his big frame at the NHL level. Also, he does not shoot the puck nearly enough.

Who am I talking about?

I assume Amirov is probably the guy that gets moved considering we know they made a few attempts to move that pick before taking him. He was a good trade chip investment given that we knew he'd play out his season in a pro league and sustain or improve his value rather than gambling on whether a CHL player would get to play this year.
