People do think that. This person thinks that posters here have their demands set way to high on possible returns for Callahan and to a lesser extent, Girardi.

by the same token, i think there's no future in resigning both of them to long term cap killing deals. you make the best deal possible for both of them. slats and co. are good at deals.

we are still pretty much void of nhl ready offensive talent. those 2 can bring us exactly that.

and i would disagree with you, girardi has more value.

No. You agree with me. I said Girardi has more value. Re-read the post. I am saying people have un realistic expectations in a return for Callahan and to a lesser extent, Girardi. Implying that although the demands may be high, they are more reasonable due to Girardi having more value. I also agree there is no future in resigning them both although I do hope we resign Danny G.

Sure we can say the same about Toews and his 2 rings...

Toews is a PPG Conn Smythe-winning Selke-winning center.

Ryan Callahan is a .5 PPG 3rd line RW special teams specialist.

Get real.

You just have to be trolling.

so we thinking if Cally goes team needs a RW replacement, prospect, 2nd rounder?

No to the RW replacement I think that can be filled by miller or kristo this year, if it's Chris Stewart that's a second line LW which we needed bad since Hagelin is more like a 3rd line energy guy.

I wish people would be realistic and stop thinking about Kristo. Sad to say it but he's gonna be a career AHLer with "potential."

What makes you say that? I'm honestly curious because I hear good things about him but I don't follow the whale. If that's the case why not trade him while he still has some value

That is what I would guard against by going after Iginla who likely will drop on the Bruins depth chart with the emergence of Reilly Smith and they still have Eriksson and Caron who has to start playing more . They have a nice problem on their right side . If we lose Girardi and Cally...and possibly Boyle and the CBO of Richards...that is a huge presence removed from our bench and room in the leadership department which Iggy could help with but only if we could get him cheap cheap . I think Iggy could have a huge impact on Kreider .

You just compared a Conn Smythe winner to Cally?

Yes. Let's compare an elite Selke-winning top 10 center to Ryan Callahan.

Missing the point is contagious?

Kenjets was referring to their attitude in interviews, which is nearly identical. Not their value or talent level.

And seriously, why the hell would I care what kind of a post-game interview a player gives? In their position, I wouldn't want to do it either.

one name that has not popped up which is under Sather type of trade is Dustin Penner.

how would you feel if he was traded to the Rangers... :help:

Dustin Penner and Max Friberg to Rangers for Boyle and Marek Hrivik??

Friberg Lindberg Fast the all swede line has a nice ring to it..

I wish people would be realistic and stop thinking about Kristo. Sad to say it but he's gonna be a career AHLer with "potential."

For this yr no Kristo unless injuries occur but Jeesh the guy is doing well in his first ahl season and is still young

Is he even a lw? Shoots right

Would it be logical to think that Fast would become an NHL regular if Callahan gets traded mid-season?

you do realize this is his first real AHL/taste for pro hockey right? he was in ND last year playing in college and finished the year with 9 games in hamilton.. hes far from a career AHLer, and hasnt even had a crack at the NHL level yet.. he got a longer look in camp this past fall.. i think your jumping the gun a little to much..

hes cut from a similar cloth of kredier, stepan and mcd with world jr experience and prob will make the jump sooner or later..

I'm aware of his situation. Personally don't see an NHL player in him. If anything I think he'll be that 2nd/3rd line tweener on an average team.
