Sather better be on top of the Grigorenko situation.

Could be an Erixon situation. Future 2c here we come!!4!@$41240

I'm not sure they keep Carcillo and Dorsett, although I'd love it.

Say the Stewart trade goes through with Callahan going the other way.

Girardi at this point looks like he will be gone too. Say they get prospects + back for him, none of which are NHL ready.

Kreider-Stepan-Nash
Zuccarello-Brassard-Stewart
Hagelin-Miller-Fast
UFA/Carcillo-Lindberg/Moore-Dorsett

McDonagh-Klein
Staal-Stralman
Moore-McIlrath/Allen

I'm not a big team toughness guy, but I feel like Dorsett and Carcillo can both play as well as agitate. A 4th line with both can be very effective. I don't like Stewart but he is a more talented player than Cally and could probably replace Poo nicely. I completely agree with getting rid of G and keep Stralman. I think Allen can play solid defense and if he was paired with Staal or McDonagh they would cover up any rookie mistakes. I would rather keep Klein with Moore just to Stabilize him in his own end.

"Hi i'd like Tavares with Moulson, hold the Moulson"

kind of similar when you go to a bar and ask the bartender "Hi i'd like a whiskey on the rocks... hold the rocks" and then he gives you the stare down.

Not happening. :(

But what if you say please?

I'll be furious if the Rangers make the right call getting rid of Callahan, then turn around and sign Stastny for stupid money.

It would be worse if they turn around and give it to someone like Moulson.

I agree on the Carcillo-_____-Dorsett line but I'm not sure AV would like that. Stewart for all of his faults would also help in that regard.

From what we have heard, just the feeling I get. If he wanted to sign, I think he would have by now.

The more I think about it, the more I think hes a much more important signing than Callahan.

Tough to find RD, incredibly durable, etc.

Last I heard, they were pretty close on a 5-6 year deal.

Not to mention the right side of that D looks pretty shaky in a lineup without him.

Especially if we ended up trading G before signing Stalman, which could end up disastrous depending on who we get back in a Girardi trade.

The quotes from Dreger yesterday as well. I think it was him, but might have been McKenzie. In any event, one of them said something like "and Girardi, who we thought was pretty close, is now looking more like he might test UFA."

If we can't get both to resign these i'd love to make these 2 deals (assuming both players extend with their new teams).

Girardi for Dumba and Minn 1st
Callahan for Etem and Ott 1st

I would rather have Fast playing a more two way game on the third line with JTM and Hags behind Nash and Zucc than have Kristo playing a one way offensive game.

kristo has the game to be a scoring forward. when he was at no dak you could see his speed and stick skills. hes very skilled. hes an excellent skater with a good hard shot. he doesnt play alot of defense but again, if he can score 25-30. sign me up.

hes not very big. under 6 and under 200. so pretty small by todays nhl standards but hes fast and can score. hes a purely offensive type player and something this organization doesnt usually draft nor develop.

thats why i like him. im really excited about his game.

fast is more of the type of safe euro guy weve seen time and time again. hell be a good nhl checker and can skate. hes perhaps a more offensively skilled hagelin.

we seem to draft and develop this type of player in spades. we have enough of them.

oh and on the stasny thing. big time pass there. too much money. same with stewart and the fact that they played well together in the past is even more sketchy. this isnt 2010-2011.

i live in the now not the past.

we do need to replace beevers minutes but stasny isnt the play there. i prefer younger cheaper and russian .....

I agree, it's not a hope of mine to lose Girardi, just a feeling.

Minn trade is fair to me.

I doubt Anaheim would do this but I would love it.

Ana would have Callahan, Perry, Palmieri, Etem, and Silfverberg as their RWs. Too many.

Etem or Palmieri would need to come to us.

I don't know if people realize that Toews is an UFA after next year. I think a placeholder for 2014-15 is probably the best idea if you feel like you can grab him long term. He'd be 27 yrs old and the time of signing his next contract, and he's also one of the few guys that Id be willing to give a max. deal to.

Brassard may not be an ideal 2c but he's a better 2c than 3c, especially when you consider Zuccarello will be in the top 6 with Callahan's departure next year and Brassard works very well with him.

Burmistrov may return, doesn't mean we couldn't trade for him.

There is no discernible reason I see him leaving. None. Great city. Great team. Great coach. Face of the franchise. They'll offer him the max for an extra year. Blackhawk for life.

That would be incredible but I seriously, seriously doubt Toews would ever leave Chicago.

Now, Kane, on the other hand (who is also UFA)...

I want Grigorenko more than Burmistrov.

If we think Buffalo would pay a lot for Callahan, I can't imagine a prospective Kane deal in his prime.

I believed he was shopped a few years ago. His loose cannon, bad boy, image was wearing thin on their F.O. If he's not resigned, he'll be traded.

8.25 mill would be the value I'd expect. Maybe 8.5.

I don't think they'd move him for a guy they know they'll win the bidding for in the summer, but of course I'd welcome it.

I'd pursue a Grigorenko trade independent of Callahan.

We would need help from Grigorenko, ala the help we got from Erixon to force his way here and only here... but it is not inconceivable. He says he wants to go to NYR or he returns to KHL.

Probably a but less, but he will use that in his negotiations. As he should.

I don't think Stastny would be the worst move in the world, but he definitely is not a true difference maker like I would rather see signed for big money.

I agree 100%. However, how often do those true difference makers make it to UFA? We could do far worse than Stastny IMO.
