and just to add to this..

noone knows what the terms and demands are for the both of them.. all we're doing is speculating their going to be asking for the moon, and slats is going to have to sign a blank check..

all the media outlets are speculating too, not once have we had an idea of what the asking price are..

get me proof of where the negotiations are headed and the terms then we can properly discuss them.. but this nonsense they should get traded is too too funny.. we all wanted a homegrown talented team, and now that their UFAs we need to trade them? why can't we pay our own based on the body of work and importance they've been to our team currently and in the past?

Since they havent been signed yet, I think the answer is "too much"

I still believe that we will snag Yakupov. His value is at an all time low, and I can see parallels with the Seguin to Dallas trade. God this organization needs that type of trade.

Saying that, I think we won't see any moves before the Stadium Classic games. I know it's a business, but I don't think the management is such a dick that they'd trade a player that has been looking forward to the opportunity.

Disagree. I see plenty of Oleksy, and he's not worth a claim.

Tip: if Washington doesn't want a guy, we shouldn't either.

What's he gonna cost? Would be interesting. You can't have too many guys who are potential liabilities like him though. You might rather a guy like Ryan O'Reilly if the cost was similar; less downside.

FWIW, pass on Byfuglien. Not a natural goal scorer. He'd come here and muck it up and not score goals like the rest of our team.

.

That would be the typical Ranger move. Bring in a 25/25 player because of "intangibles" or "lower risk" and pass on the 40-goal guy. Then all the fans will complain we have no 40 goal guys.

EDM is a circus, right now. They're scared to trade a big piece because of the potential backlash if it isn't what fans see as good trade value. The fans would riot.

Would make sense. Nash and Zucc on the RW. Might as well add another one.

Personally, I see the Rangers aiming lower than that.

Replacing Callahan's spot with Yakupov would be bold, especially int he middle of a winning streak.

On the one hand, Cally isn't as important to this team as he used to be. On the other, what kind of impact would trading the team captain have on the boys?

I think there is a less than 2% chance O'Reilly gets moved but he is the type of Patrice Bergeron-lite Center than can be a backbone piece of a Cup winning team.

I would argue that chasing the "pure talent who just needs to find consistency / be given the right chance" would be waaaaay more of a typical Ranger move.

And that's not me saying I don't want Yak at the right price. But describing O'Reilly as a run of the mill "intangible" player is off base. What he brings is 100% tangible and valuable.

I like Oleksy better than Falk as well. Falk's a better skater with more size but Oleksy competes a lot harder and though smaller is a tougher guy.

Less than people here will tell us it does a year later when they lose a few games in a row.

Why are we feeling a move is imminent here?

I've heard a few abstract rumors, and that Girardi might be signed. Thats it.
