The Lightning's defense sucks terribly. It doesn't matter if Dwayne Roloson is playing goal, Lindback, or Lundqvist. I said getting a goalie won't help, they'll still be one of the last in goals against this year. That Matt Carle contract sucks too.

I love him to death and I`m well aware of his passing ability, but no he wouldn`t. That`s a stretch pass only the likes of Forsberg are able to make. Any top Dman could put that in his highlight reel compilation. Incredible play.

Kovy hit someone, I believe Loktionov, on a pass from just as far away earlier this year. Don't remember who. Only difference is our guy didn't score and Lindback let in a soft shot.

I must`ve missed it then. I`ve seen him make a similar pass before, just not from that far out.

The premier forward signing of this past season wasn't Parise but Semin.

yea i really wanted semin..it just made so much sense to get him. we lose a top line player, we have money to blow, we have gaping holes in the forward lines, we have kovy/ other eastern euros to make him more comfortable...just frustrating to think about.

It was before the restructuring. Jeff wasn't going to let Lou spend money on anyone but Zach...I think that much was clear once FA started.

Had the Devils money situation been straightened out before hand MAYBE we could of landed Semin.

That said, Lou I don't think would let a new merc become the highest paid player ( cap wise ) in the locker room anyway.

Hopefully this year we can pick up something significant on the UFA market. Hopefully we can also somehow get rid of Tallinder. It's nothing personal, but it would be nice to clear that $3 million when we need scoring help.

Sources telling #NHLNetwork the Anaheim Ducks are on the verge of re-signing Corey Perry.

Go get Bobby Ryan this summeer Lou ( via trade at the draft... i dont think fans would mind losing the pick if Bettman announces a Bobby Ryan trade at the podium ) and resign him before he has a chance to bolt to Philly

Yeah Perry was never who I had in mind. I don't really know who I have in mind. There's a HUGE middle ground between Perry and Bobby Butler.

If the Ducks make a big push this season, I don't see them breaking up their forward core for anything less than a payment that would hurt us more than help us.

they'd have to fall off a cliff Wild-style in order to make the asking price fair.

Winnipeg shopping Burmistrov. Asking price is a top 6 forward - OK, can we give them Poni back, he's on our top line?

I throw in Harrold as a bonus.

Seriously, how about Tedenby, Fayne, and a 4th for Burmistrov and a 3rd?

Hell, I'll give them Tedenby and Josefson for Burmistrov. Throw in Janssen. Yanno, for the grit and toughness.

And you don't think other fanbases feel the same way? Skimming the main board a few weeks back I found a 'Pittsburgh should have signed Semin' thread.

Besides, people forget how much Semin's arc was trending downward the last two years before this year. Why he's revived in Carolina when he was a corpse in Washington, who knows. Maybe he needed a change of scenery. Maybe the public blackballing on July 1 embarassed him to getting his act together.

We also don't have an Eric Staal center to play him with so he wouldn't have necessarily had the same season here.

I bet if he started out with Madden lite this year he probably would have like 10 less points.

Honestly what forwards do you guys think the Devils can realistically go for now? With the injuries to the Panthers guys we were talking about, who else is out there that NJ can afford?

I like the idea of bringing in Kostitsyn, but the Preds aren't out of the playoff picture

I honestly think getting Zubrus, Loktionov, and Brodeur all healthy is gonna be huge for this team. Also if Fayne ever gets back in, it's gonna be huge too.

Anyway, Kulemin just got moved down to the fourth line. The Leafs are still gonna have to lose someone between this season and when the cap goes down next season. And if Burmistrov is for real on the table, you can bet Lou's on the phone. Buying low on a young Russian center with a huge upside? YOU DON'T SAY? :sarcasm:

Barring an injury soon, this team is going to be fully healthy in about a week or two.

One of the few teams that can say that. Zubrus will have fresh legs.

dont really care at all if other fanbases feel the same way...where did i say i did? all i know is i and a few others wanted him and many wanted no part of him. he is and always has been a great player and its pretty clear that washington was the problem and not him.
