Obviously a 2nd isn't going to get it done. It's more me not being willing to give up value for him.

He's also 29, on a very expensive contract, and to compare him to Subban or Karlsson is absolutely insulting. Subban's defensive game absolutely destroys Greens, and Karlsson flat out dominates every other shift he's on. Green WISHES he could play like them.

Take him off Washington's top ranked PP feeding Ovechkin one timers, and watch him fall to 20 points, less than McDonagh. He's got a great shot, but that's all that's going right for him this year.

he was like them in his early days.. but injury bug caught up to him and hurt his game..

if you can get green for callahan i think glen does that..but callahan doubt will be traded within the conference.. its kinda disheartening seeing him in trade rumors.. but the business side of things suck.. if there was no cap that would be one thing but you got to know a rough investment when you see one.. wish he could be a thorton or marlaeu or even lucic and take a 3 year deal for 6m AAV no 7yrs at that.. the way pro sports is going is sad.. no loyalty..and "i want to be here" is such crap bc if you did feel that way you would sign a fair deal for both sides and all the group to stay together..

That's easy to say from the keyboard.

No player should be entitled to take discounts. Good on Callahan for going for the most dough, everyone here would do the same.

Callahan, Stralman, Boyle to Avs for McGinn, Siemens, McLeod, Heard, 1st in 2014??

rather go after Siemiens over Barrie. Rangers can use some size with toughness on the defense... Rangers get size that can play in McLeod (a lot grittier and plays wing, center and PK)

He and McIl on the same pairing.... the bruise brothers.

Agree. Moore is a good fourth line player who chips in offensively on occasion. A better site than the 4th lien we've been used to seeing for years that couldn't be counted on for the slightest wiff of offense.
....

IMO Moore has untapped potential. Not crazy potential, but could be competing for higher C if given chance. Has good vision, passing, boards, etc.

Stralman is an excellent puck moving and transition defenseman who doesn't rack up points because of it. We should be grateful for that because he'll come cheaper.

Agreed. I don't get why many posters suddenly want to get rid of Stralman. Along with McDonaugh, he is the d-man best suited to play AV's system. He will probably come comparibly cheap and has also been one of the best playoff performers. It would be a ****ing idiotic move to trade him at the deadline for a pick (I don't think the Rangers will get much more than a 2nd). Kevin Klein has played two games as a Ranger and some of you already want to get rid of the best bang for the buck. I don't get it.

Right now, the Rangers have a very balanced set of d-men. I hope they keep it intact. The notion that we need more scoring from that group is way overblown, IMO. Rangers have a 3.31 G/G average in January. As of now, scoring is just fine.

Kind of a flavor of the week thing. Same thing happened with Dallas Eakins. A few knowledgable posters commented on Eakins as a potential target. Next thing you know every one on these boards is wanting a coach they have never heard of and not to mention the fact that he had no NHL experience.

Actually, I would help the team by taking a slight (not saying major) discount if I could.

Not everyone here would do the same as you're insinuating.

Moore is 33, with 8 nhl seasons under his belt. How much untapped potential can he realistically have at this point?

Honestly, I think we should re-sign him. At the very least, we'll have him as insurance at the beginning of the season if McIlrath isn't ready. We can reevaluate next year and if we have an extra defenseman, the worst that could happen is trading either Stralman or Klein for assets.
