Agreed with this. I lean more towards peeke than I do towards parayko. There’s lots of guys playing smaller roles ready to flourish somewhere else and by flourish I mean play steady reliable hockey
A guy playing a smaller role ready to flourish here is Brannstrom

Its crazy how no one is ever satisfied with brannstrom.

The kid took another step this year. What people dont realize is defense comes first then you build your offense from it.
This yr brannstrom rlly solidified his defense which he struggled with in years prior i wouldn't be surprised for hs offense to start coming over thr next year or so

Hell no to Parayko considering play style, age, and rumoured back issues. For the short term reward, it could also derail the whole thing and be stuck with 7 more years after this one of an albatross contract worse than Phaneuf/Zaitsev.

I just think Parayko is the type of d-man that both Chabot and Sanderson need

Zub and Parayko are great compliments to these guys

It's the final 3 years of the Parayko contract that are a no go imo. St louis would have to eat them and then the price would go up and on and on we go.

Otherwise, perfect fit imo.

Parayko would have been the PERFECT partner for Chabot, the guy he has desperatly needed for so long. But the problem is he might be declined already, it's hard to tell with injuries but sometimes it's impossible to get back at your previous level, it makes you "age" faster. Some pretty extensive due diligence has to be done here.

The problem for us is that Pierre Dorion and his friends seem to only have access to video tapes from 2-3 years ago... It's probably why we ended up giving up a 2nd round pick for a cap dump or get back Boedker instead of picks for Hoffman

Buckle up...

Probably Sanderson

Parayko from 3-4 years ago? Absolutely

Today, absolute no. There are not many players we should trade Sanderson for. Only guys who are also considered untouchable by their teams as well

Why though? You can dump guys, for a price. You can buy out the last 2 years for a pretty moderate cap hit. He could LTIRetire. There's so many options to mitigate the last 2-3 years of his deal. In the meantime, you get 4 years of exactly what you need in the lineup and the asking price is totally doable. I'd be all over this if it was true.

Because it leads to problems down the road. Especially with a ntc.

You will likely have to absolve yourself of this contract halfway through, or maybe you can't a la Zaitsev.

The cap hit is doable though, I agree. The term is balls though.

If nothing else, the fact that he's signed well past 35 should factor in big time into the price - again, imo.

There’s like… Three D men I’d trade Sanderson for and now I’m thinking of those three;

Dahlin, McAvoy, Fox and in that order.

That’s it. Maybe Nemec in two years.

Jake Sanderson is special.

Could a team offer sheet Pinto in the off season?
No. He's a 10.2c player which means he can't receive an offer sheet. No arbitration rights either.

The Sens can - and should - grind him into dust during their negotiations this summer.

Sure, I just don't think he is a top 4 D. Just my opinion, I will be happy to be proven wrong later on.

Re: Parayko/Weegar - Its kind of academic if they don't waive their NTCs. Then there's the cap issues trying to fit their salaries in unless we dump someone (example Debrincat).

He must be injury prone now ;)

That 2nd concussion should have the league worried. Minimal contact but instantly you saw Cale in pain and walked down the tunnel immediately. Love the kid, but he’s not too far removed from the cup run where he obviously had another and has had a few before in his career.

I have said Sanderson reminds me of Lidstrom on multiple occasions. I wouldn’t gamble that away on a player with legitimate concerns. Heck, even McAvoy has his risks.

Weeger doesn’t have an NTC until July.
