If you hate Ottawa so much why do you follow the team and if you live in Ottawa why don't you move ? I mean it seems exhausting hating the city of Ottawa as much as you do.

Chill out dude - did I ever say I hate Ottawa ? I love it here … great little town for my modest lifestyle.

I’m the one that chooses to live here… where are you again ?

I need to chill out ? Every post you make is either bashing Colin White now Formenton or bashing the city of Ottawa and telling us how no one wants to play here.

I could see one of Formenton or Brown being used as a sweetener to move Murray but I feel like a NHL body would have to be coming Ottawa's way. Someone like Kerfoot (NTC) or Engvall. I'm not really sure how that works for Toronto though.

That'd be terrible.

Na… you confuse not crushing on a player bashing . Yes, formenton is the player I’d move for a top RD. Not pinto or Greig or 2023 1RD…
sorry if you can’t deal with that.. heck, I’d trade every player on the team for the right deal.

There’s a reason his name keeps
Coming up -mainly soft play, contract demands, golf tourneys, getting passed on the depth charts.

Oh that's my bad man. It must have been someone else's posts I read calling Ottawa Ottberia and how no UFA wants to come here because so many places are so much better. It must have also been someone else's posts I read about how Formenton is soft and just does fly bys. It must have also been someone esle's posts I read about how he wouldn't be surprised if DeBrincat left Ottawa after a year or two for a change of scenery. That's my bad man, I'll have to find that poster and respond to him/her/them.

What’s a better alternative? For me a buyout is most optimal but I’m unsure how that extra money in years 3 and 4 impacts how the team moves forward. Getting a useful player back and moving out Murray would be a step in the right direction if Giroux is serious about coming to Ottawa. Also wouldn’t be surprised if Formenton is of interest to Toronto with Mikheyev likely going to FA.

You take things way to serious … Ottawa can be a great city and not a hockey destination for pro athletes at the same time.

I love Cancun but I’m not moving myself or the family there.

If you hate Ottawa it’s because you don’t know how to double fist gin and tonics and then go for a a poutine and leave half the gravy on your shirt

I really don’t think we are attaching a piece as good as formenton pinto or brown JUST to get rid of Murray. That would be certifiably insane

Pinto definitely not. I can see Brown or Formenton if they are getting a useful player back, someone they can put on the third line and not have to worry about.

Formenton maybe … pinto and Greig would only be for decent dman.

Have any of the London Golf players signed extensions yet ? I can’t see our owners not needing some answers before the give they the guy $10 million +…

I’d move Formenton if we had no money and the only way to get a Giroux was to clear Formy and Murray’s money.

How many RFA's period have signed lately? No justification for that kind of conspiracy theory, UFA's get dealt with first, then the high end guys if they're not holding out, then the Formenton's.

Murray's buyout would suck in 25-26. Between him and White that would be $3,375,000 in dead cap in a year we're supposed to be good. in 24-25, White's cap credit probably helps that, we'd only have $1,875,000 in dead cap.

These buyouts are starting to catch up to Dorion, but it's a better option than giving up a valuable prospect/young player as a sweetener. Maybe Dubas knows we're going to buy him out as a last resort and isn't willing to budge on a cap dump without a sweetener.

It’s speculative but worth watching. There is already talk that he’s currently “untradeable”.
Because of
The connection. Would you trade for someone who had a 50% chance of being involved without some sort declaration or contract clause?

I can see our ownership group glossing this over.

Murray at 3 mil for two years is a pretty good deal for Toronto. We really should’t add much of a sweetener to that.
I don’t see any way we retain 50% unless we get something we want out of the deal. Buyout costs 2.5M in real dollars this year so any retention would be far lower, especially if we were adding a “sweetener”

Georgiev just re-signed for 3.4 mil per for 3 years. There's no way we should add a significant sweetener if we're retaining.

Absolutely. Why in the world would we send them a good player so they'd take a highly discounted Murray off our hands? They obviously need him to replace Campbell so retaining 30% of his salary seems like the only "sweetener" we should add.

Cancun ? Oh ok it all makes sense now you are 16 years old. When you turn 18 you should check out Quebec you can buy beer there.

I guess you didn’t take 1st year philosophy … it’s straight to the childish insults when we run out of hockey things to say…

All good Mr. Chains.

Even when saying you love Ottawa you can’t help but take a shot.

Sorry? Great big town better ? Great medium big town? You lost me a bit. Maybe you didn’t like Modest? How do you think people live in Ottawa ? Extravagant ?

I like my city, I wish I paid less in taxes. I like other cities too.

I’m planning a vacation, it won’t be to Stittsville .

Betteman expects the cap to be over 90M in 2-3 years we will be fine.
