Yeah I think Friedman? And he said the connection between chycrun and Ottawa is very high on his radarIs that the rumoured three teams left?

I'm fine to trade Pinto for Chychrun, but only if its straight up unless some lower round picks are exchanged. Sure it weakens our top 9, but I'd rather have our top 6 and top 4 secured for at least 3 seasons than go into a season with a meh top 4 and secure top 6.
I don’t know what the deal with Hague is but that might be an option too
On Saturday during intermission Friedman also said that Arizona had asked for Pinto and that Dorion was in no way interested in giving Pinto up. So, is this something that Friedman said on Sunday? Can you post a link?Yeah I think Friedman? And he said the connection between chycrun and Ottawa is very high on his radar
I’m not willing to sell the farm for Chykrun. I wouldn’t give more than 2023 1st top 10 protected + Thomson/Brannstrom + 2024 2nd + prospect (not Greig) + Zaitsev dump. I may go with 2024 being a conditional 1st rather than 2nd if Chykrun plays X amount of games and the Sens get to the 2024 conference finals. On Saturday during intermission Friedman also said that Arizona had asked for Pinto and that Dorion was in no way interested in giving Pinto up. Don't know if any other team would call that equivalence for three 1sts.I'd give up 3 firsts.
1st in 2023 (top 2 protected)
Grieg
Brannstrom
I would also give up a 2nd for them to take Zaitsev
So in total
To Ottawa
Chychrun
To Arizon
1st,
2nd
Greig,
Brannstom,
Zaitsev
Totally understand this perspective, fair play... but I can't agree with it, personally. Power forward types necessarily come with that inherent injury risk. But it's such a tough role to fill externally because of how rarely these types of players are traded. He's maybe a half-step down from Sanderson in my rankings as far as importance to the future, but about the same level as far as willingness to include either in a trade. To me Greig is tradeable. His frame and style of play makes him an injury risk.
I'm still a huge fan and don't want to trade him, but I'm unwilling to put him in the untouchable category with Pinto and Sanderson.
The Sens’ problem has been allowing too many goals. I don’t think that adding Chychrun will improve that stat.
IMO, a RH shutdown dman should be #1 on the shopping list.

The answer is an immediate no from arizona.Don't know if any other team would call that equivalence for three 1sts.
Major areas of concern remain Chychrun's injury, current and history, as well as his ability to play RD.
It should be a pass unless it's for an underwhelming package like:
1st (top 10 protected)
Jarventie/JBD/Thomson
Add 2nd + Brannstrom for Zaitsev. I guess it depends if one thinks Greig is a premiere prospect or not.
None of the other forward prospects are close to NHL ready, at least not 3rd line ready. Who replaces Pinto as 3LC if we traded him ?I think we can afford to trade Greig or Pinto considering how many young forwards we have in the pipeline that are relatively safe bets to be able to play bottom 6 minutes in the future, but I'd still rather not do it in a deal for Chychrun if a 1st will be accompanying them as well.
Dude can't stay healthy and he's coming off of two more surgeries this summer. The status of this off-season as a major buyer's market likely hasn't changed either. Most I would give up is a B prospect, 1st and a 2nd for Chychrun, with another 2nd thrown in if they agree to take on Zaitsev.
Good. The answer is an immediate no from arizona.
Chychrun would help us defensively, sure, but that's not his bread and butter. I don't get paying a premium for a guy who plays a very similar (but worse) game to Chabot, especially when we have Sanderson. This assumption by some that he can step in and excel at RD is way too nonchalant, too.Chychrun is good defensively, so I'm not sure why he wouldn't improve that stat.
This ignores the fact that we've added Giroux and Debrincat... which makes it not very useful for analysis. This is a common misconception held by fans and media.
League rank
GF 26th
GA 22nd
Change required to rank 16th (league median)
GF 26 more goals
GA 15 fewer goals
Change required to rank 10th in the league
GF 46 more goals
GA 32 fewer goals
Scoring was the bigger issue statistically last season.

I should have said that Pinto is a no-go for me. I view him as the perfect 3rd line center going forward. Might be one of the best in the league if he hits his potential as a two-way forward ala Cirelli.
IF the Sens actually agreed to give one of them up, I'd prefer it be Greig. Doing so wouldn't hurt the team now but if DeBrincat doesn't re-sign there could be a hole at the LW position going forward that Greig might have been able to fill within a couple years. Only other guy with top 6 potential at LW is Jarventie, but he's a boom/bust guy and could easily fail if he doesn't improve his effort level.
Neither should be on the table.
