They'll just scream about AsSeT mAnaGEmeNt like they know the true value of some of these players around the league. But a great organization like San Jose took him so he can't be bad! But now they're buying him out so...now what are we supposed to think about him????

The number of things the HFSens hive mind have been wrong about in the last 2 months is starting to get alarmingly high. Keep telling those of us who take a more balanced view of things that we're just trolls/shills/bots for the organization/Melnyk/Dorion...it must be so deflating to be so wrong about so many things and I can understand why they feel the need to lash out at some of us.

Man you're so right.

How silly of us to think trading a 2nd for Stepan and putting Balcers on waivers was a dumb move. Same goes for trading Dahlen for Burrows and giving him a 5M/2YR extension.

Those moves obviously have worked out tremendously well in hindsight. We were so wrong about them and lashing out at true fans like you was a defense mechanism.

I’m not really sure how good Weegar is tbh

Sounds like a he was bad in the playoffs

I could be mistaken, but don’t they need to be cap compliant at the start of the season, before you can assign to LTIR?

Unrelated but do you have any insight on what dman we’re focusing on?

We have heard so many names

Who took the boring collar off Dorion? The girls, Melnyk not being there? Bowness? What gives?

:scared:
So with 100% certainty, this is the difference.

With Eugene, he wanted to be in the know for everything, and would weigh in and make requests. This was true for Hockey Operations to marketing to communications, etc. Add in hiring Pierre McGuire to essentially spy on Dorion, and add his 2 cents, and you ended up with some really bad moves last year.

Without Eugene, Dorion has been told his budget is X. Beyond that he is free to make the moves he needs to. Same with other parts of the organization.

Ultimately, Dorion is going to have to live and die by his own sword, but he won’t have anyone else to blame this time around.

Why not get mad at the Sens for bringing in Paquette and Coburn and Galchenyuk who all contributed to the Sens losing Balcers as much, if not more than Stepan.

At the end of the day you’re screaming at the wall here. Balcers has a particular skill set that is top-6 or bust and even then he isn’t skilled enough to be in the top-6. He has and will always have been a replacement level prospect that never had a long term future in Ottawa.

Be happy with what’s happening in Ottawa. Things are changing.

What I always figured. Melnyk's problem's reached so far it was impossible for this team to stay on the right track long enough to succeed.

The instant turnaround of this franchise does not seem to be a coincidence.

What we all expected. Thank you for the post.

I've always been curious to see what PD would be like given some extra human resources and capital. I never thought a more experienced GM would get much better results given the same circumstances, and they were unlikely to join anyway.

We're in for a ride that's for sure.

huberdeau extension
Nah: we have Hornqvist going off the books for that. It’s more about signing other players.

From what I’ve gathered from Florida media, we are trying to re sign Giroux and Marchment who want more than one year deals so keeping them and Huberdeau/Weegar will be tough.

I’m not going to get into Florida vs Ottawa for Giroux: it seems like he wants to stay in Florida and chase the cup but money matters as well

Grain of salt but I hear from a second hand (maybe even third) but I trust them that weegar does NOT want to come here lol
I mean, would you want to leave a contender to go to a team that was bottom 10 last year? He's still from Ottawa so he can't be that against it.

If he was a decent player a team would have picked him up by now. Couldn't stick with Mtl. guys an AHL'r.
He could have came to Ottawa and saw it as an opportunity for his career. He had opportunities here - instead he came to Ottawa with a bad attitude after winning the cup with Tampa, didn’t give any effort and forced a trade out of Ottawa.

He didn’t know his place.

Enough about that though. He’s an AHLer now and for GOOD REASON.
