Friedman also mentioned Burns is a name to watch,

not not likely to Ottawa because of the NMC but still, only 5mil in real dollars for the next 3 seasons.

Sounds almost too good. Would be ecstatic

Listening to Friedman, it sounds very much like the Leafs want Murray because they think he can play goal for them. Says that their analytics staff has a more favourable view of him than others, and their goalie coach, who has a long-time relationship with him, thinks he's fixed some of the structural issues that plagued him in 20/21 and early 21/22.

They need the salary to be low. They don't need an additional asset.

It very much sounds like a 3rd team will be involved and we'll have to give them a draft pick to take on some of the salary.

Won't be Brown, Pinto, JBD, etc as a "sweetener".

If that's the case, perhaps Toronto is the one that hands over a pick as the sweetner to whomever the third team is? And we get future considerations (aka, nothing). If Toronto wants him that badly.

Thoughts on a Petry for Brown swap? Petry is RD and hard. Brown has talent. Saves a boatload of prospects moving to Arizona for Chychrun.

They got the donuts? Excellent....
Marek on the 30 Thoughts podcast thought Ottawa might be a dark horse for Klingberg.

Not the type of D we need but the market for RHD is so thin that its better to have talent than a player who plays a particular style. Pairing him with Sanderson would better than anyone else we currently have other than Zub.

Assen na yo!

As for Murray - LTIR is my hope. If not that then just buy him out and use the $$ for Giroux signing.
I don't think buyout is an option because he needs to be medically cleared before the window closes on Tuesday. So very unlikely at this point.

Makes sense if we were interested in DeAngelo.

Would be fantastic if possible. Not sure, but yes if we can.
Would you put him with Sanderson? Zub with Chabot? or go full out with Chabot?

The price tag for klingberg will be ugly.

But him over Chabot on PP would be a massive improvement.

Much prefer him passing to Norris/Cat vs Chabot doing it across his body.

Makes sense for Connor Brown to try and go to Edmonton and reunite with McDavid, if I was going to FA I’d want to play a season with MCD as well, could mean an extra $10 million in my pocket playing 1 season with the best in the game

Where the f*** is all of this money coming from??

Besides, the worst possible thing to do right now is commit big $$ to Klingberg (thank god DeAngelo didn’t happen either…). We have several good players either needing or going to be need substantial raises within the next couple of seasons.
