I feel like targets at 5 mil or under who are signed at least for next season are the way to go if we want to keep DeBrincat

Chychrun 4.6, but high acquisition cost
Tanev 4.5
Barrie 4.5
Murphy 4.4
Carlo 4.1
Pesce 4.025 but high acquisition cost if even avail
Roy 3.15
DeMelo 3
Peeke 2.75
Whitecloud 2.75

Leaving out guys like Andersson, and Hronek who aren't realistically available.

That's how I'm setting my expectations. I also have a sneaking feeling we extend Hamonic somewhere in the 2-3 range,
I used to think LAK were interesting and even more so now that they traded & added another defenseman. But, checking CapFriendly, it lists just three RDs: Doughty, Roy and Walker. Durzi is listed as LD/RD. I guess I thought they had more RDs than that. Roy is interesting, and maybe Durzi although to a lesser extent, but I'm really not as convinced as I was before that they have excess RDs to move. The Jensen idea is also dead now given that he signed a new contract.

LA is tied for the points lead out West and have accomplished that with atrocious goaltending. They have oodles of prospects and I think they got those guys for a shockingly small amount.
There's a stat out there about how they have the best winning percentage in the league with a goals saved above expected of 0.

Any chance we can get Fabbro? I never watched him play, is he any good?

He's decent. Smart two-way D that can move the puck decently well. Think JBD but better at everything.

Only thing is that he's not big (6'0, 189lbs) and isn't super physical, so he's not exactly the type of D the Sens typically go after.

He’s never broken a trade exactly just says maybe this that or the other take with grain of salt etc

Hardly an insider

He (Benj1v) has specifically explained how he gets his info, has never claimed to be THE guy, which frankly he didn’t need to share with anyone other than the mods.
Speaking of salt, you seem a little salty - you think he has some ulterior motive here? Like he’s going to leverage some fun information he hears into a bigger gig on the Sens forum at HF?

I’m more suspicious of you than Benj1v lol

They'll both be extended. No way they cleared out Quick so they could also walk away from the guys they traded for. They're still going to clear out one of Walker or Roy at some point and get Clarke into the lineup and probably move out one or both of Arvidsson and Iafallo. They're fine capwise and I doubt they see Korpisalo and Gavrikov as strictly rentals.
I agree, but I’m talking about from our perspective.

Someone asked if we had a legit insider, people said yes and it’s false lol

What trade has he ever broken ?

Answering the question honestly isn’t salty lol

Yeah they've been scored on 4 times or more in almost half their games. With some goaltending they have a chance to go far in the playoffs this year, the West is mediocre right now

Here are the defensemen who have yet to be traded and Sens were linked to them at some point:
  1. Matt Dumba
  2. Jakob Chychrun
  3. Mackenzie Weegar
  4. Colton Parayko
  5. Matt Roy
  6. Sean Durzi
  7. Sean Walker
  8. Trevor Van Riemsdyk

Who do you prefer?

Unfortunately I think Tyson Barrie should be added to this list.

There was definitely talk about the Sens being interested in him back in the summer, and Barrie happens to have basically the same contract as Zaitsev, so money in vs. money out would be about the same.

If the Preds aren't trading Fabbro, could see them putting Barrie up for sale. Hope we'll steer clear, however.
