He couldn’t find his Tyler Boucher.

In a year, that's been descried by almost every single scout, and scouting service, to be unbelievable at the top, and at the very worst average/above average from 6-50, hearing our GM say this is extremely refreshing after the work the staff put in the past 2 drafts. They've been knocking it out of the park since 2021. Not having any Ben Roger's, Filip Nordberg's or Tyler Boucher's in the 1st and 2nd makes it an easy write off.

The demand for DBC isn't going to be high, there isn't going to be a bidding war.

As an aside. Dorions comments on locked on were interesting a while back. You almost get a hint of criticism at the scouting staff over the 2021 draft... Like he basically tried to say it was the only time he wasn't heavily involved and it won't happen again..

Beginning to feel that way.
Teams know who he will sign with. Most of those teams don't want/can't fit him in. There is maybe 2 teams, at most, who a) want to trade for him b) DBC will sign with

As soon as it was announced that he gave a list, a few were saying I was losing my mind because I said the list would contain the Vegas's and Florida's of the league, and that DBC's list would be filled with realistic teams for the Sens because he wants to get traded.

If bunting openly starts following a bunch of homo/trans phobe , racist accounts I will be the first person to call him out for sure.

Part of hockey culture is most of these athletes lack education and empathy and I guess that applies some fans to like you
Always good to respond with personal attacks when you have nothing else. You know absolutely nothing about me wrt to the politics you have brought in here.

No 1st this year. Said nothing about next.

We could get more than 2nd & Mazur at the deadline, pretty easily.
We possibly could, but the team likely will not be trading DBC at the deadline if he's still here. If he's not traded by the start of the season, I'd put it at 80-20 odds that he's walking for nothing and the Sens use him as their own deadline deal.

It's a catch-22. The team, and Dorion, want and need to make the playoffs. DBC undoubtedly helps more than what the team would get in return now and at the deadline. If he's on the roster in Feb, and the Sens are within 6 points of a Wildcard spot, he's not going anywhere.

I wouldn't trust anything a GM says right now. They're 10 times worse than politicians right now, they'll say anything to gain any kind of upper hand in their several trade negotiations.

Gives you extra time to feel out a team that has, say, an over abundance of solid 3rd liners and wants to add a game-breaking scorer though. A real hockey trade where Ottawa gets deeper and another team gets the sniper they want.

Fair, and to that I'd say I would rather go that route than trade Debrincat to a divisional rival for two B assets. Not like theres a strong FA class to replace him this year anyways

I feel my assumption about your lack of education and empathy is fair . I explained my reasonings last night. Methot follows a concerning amount of accounts that exclusively tweet hate and he makes their voices louder by following their accounts. You had your time to disagree and move on but instead you bring it back into the convo. That’s why I made that assumption about you, something is missing. Clearly

Saying this draft is subpar and he's glad that the Sens don't have a pick in this one of all drafts, and then trading for a 1st or 2nd round pick and exclaiming they're very happy with the return would be prime Dorion.

Dorion has said he may get a 2nd or 3rd rounder. He's just putting out the early fires when the return comes in by saying the 1st isn't a spot to be this year.

Maybe, but I doubt it. He knows people aren't dumb - or he should at this point. He's not tempering any expectations at this point.

Plus, his job is on the line. If you trade DBC for scraps, you better use that cap $$ for something good.

Hahah Dorion about to be bent

If this years draft is so bad trade for a 2024 1st

But wait he can’t because he’s terrible negotiating deals

What a clown we need him gone
Yes, probably we could use fresh blood. But give him some credit, he didn't cave to Arizona's demands for Chychrun.

Not only is this situation beyond ridiculous but like what does that say about the actual Debrincat trade last year.... He is openly admitting he completely blew it. Andlauer staying silent the entire time then winning the bid and Dorion decides to go this route. Basically interviewing to keep his job and does the polar opposite of what his new boss did to get the team. He seriously lacks intelligence, he has 0 poise.

It reeks of this:
