Rangers really don't have space for DeBrincat, whether we're talking cap space or room on the roster.

They are paying Panarin and Kreider over 18M to be their top 2 LWers.

With less than 12M in space to re-sign Miller, Lafreniere and fill out the rest of the roster, it's not do-able.

Hayes may be going to St. Louis, which frankly makes more sense than DeBrincat IMO

They'll probably dump one of their overpaid LD (Krug, Leddy or Scandella) in the deal.

I see where you're coming from but, as you said, they do have some talent. I also just dont know if its in Pred DNA to do a full rebuild. They are always competitive and I think that's a big part of their identity.
Well, it's time to go all in on DBC! :scared:

One of their dozen 2024 2nds going back to LA would be my guess.
Holy cow. That seams quite cheap. Odd the way this league works.

The value of offensive D has never been lower with the new PP set-up only requiring 2 talented D, one to run the top PP and another to QB the 2nd PP.

Ghost was dumped with a 2nd attached after a 0.5 PPG season and only returned a 3rd at the deadline after pacing over 40P+ the past two years.

A return like this isn't surprising IMO. What was surprising was Vancouver paying a mid 1st and a 2nd for Hronek.

Who on NYR? Lafrenniere?

Toffoli is too old. I want a younger player or a high draft pick.

I think there's some interesting pieces for sure.

Lafrenière is one.

Personally I like Kakko, I think he has some good upside if used with better players. His style of play really compliments this team. Drives possession and plays a good 200ft game and provides offense.

Chytil could be a possibility.

They have some Dmen too and I could see us interested in Cuylle in a package. Even Goodrow would be a good fit in the bottom 6, 2X cup winner with term who plays hard.

He's a puck mover too. There's never been more emphasis on puck moving to get the puck out and to the forwards. I dunno...a 2nd - even a high one - is surprising to me personally, but hey, whatever...

He had a tough playoff and isn't great defensively but I'm also very surprised that it only took a 2nd in 2024.

That 2nd will be in the early 30s so it will have good value but Durzi is 24 and will definitely help the Yotes.

Great deal for both teams. LA have young guys coming in who will be better than Durzi and Durzi will get tons of ice time.

The trend definitely seems to be towards big defensive defenseman versus small offensive D.

Obviously those big defensive D need to be able to move the puck well enough to not turn it over, but a team really only needs 1-2 offensive D.

Hayes going to St-Louis

So DeBrincat's not going there obviously.

I’d be surprised if it wasn’t the Panthers or Caps 2024 2nd.

Edit: Nope, was Montreals

We have one of the best scoring wingers in the NHL available, and he’s 25.

People are down on him in here for various reasons (coping with loss, wanting different distribution of cash, hedging emotional bets), but he’s going to have several teams interested in him, and he’s going to return something solid for us along with cap space.

PD knows how to make solid hockey trades regardless of the heat he gets in here. This isn’t wanting desperatly to keep Stone until the last minute, this is trading a premier player at a time when all teams have the most flexibility, including Ottawa.

Git ‘er done!
