Proposal: Trade Rumours/Proposals [MOD - Stay on Topic]

The main thing that made me think we'd still get a good piece or two for DeBrincat was the lack of other options, whether via UFA or trade.

Calgary blowing it up changes that. Lindholm, Toffolli, Hanifin, Backlund on the market.

And if those guys are going it doesn't make sense for them to hold onto Huberdeau or Kadri (if they can find takers), Coleman, Tanev, etc...

Not great.
Ya that is a lot of good pieces available all of a sudden if that happens.

Mangiapane, Zadorov and even Andersson could be on the move too if they blow it up and all three should be desired as well.

Maybe even Weegar, Kylington, Dube and/or Vladar if they really go for it.

I know if I was a playoff team, I'd be after Lindholm way before DeBrincat, and probably Backlund too, but the contracts needed could be a sticking point.

Maybe under Euge.

Hell if Brady says he doesn't want to sign here going into the last year of his contract I would hope the team lets him go straight to UFA and he plays that final year in a sens Uni.
But Barkov a hell of a player. I would think really hard

I really wish there were a way to get Lindholm without having to give him his retirement contract.

Give them Brannstrom for Zadorov too and double the size of our 3rd pairing in one trade.

Toffoli could be interesting, and there’s probably a decent chance he’d re-sign. Weren’t we close in 2020?
YOu would want to trade for him after July 1 with an extension.
I know its not the Dorion way but .. He likely commands a the 1st we could obtain in the DeBrincat trade as a minimum

Feb 2022
Tyler Toffoli was traded to the Calgary Flames by the Montreal Canadiens on Monday for forward Tyler Pitlick, forward prospect Emil Heineman, a first-round pick in the 2022 NHL Draft, and a fifth-round pick in the 2023 NHL Draft.

I would not think for a second. Barkov 28 at the start of next season Tkachuk is 24. Tkachuk has better health despite playing a tougher game. Stützle is our #1C who should have similar career path to Barkov.

Would love to get Markstrom from Calgary. His contractis pretty buyout proof right now. Maybe 1.5M retained from Calgary.

so 4.5M x 3 for Markstrom.

We would probably have to send back value to Calgary tho.

He sucked last year, but I like the idea for Markstrom. We could do worse and I'd have more confidence than in Forsberg.

Lindholm would be so amazing.. it would allow us to move Norris to the wing.

That said, I feel like Toffoli is who Dorion would target, given that we almost signed him a few years ago

I think the only way we get Markstrom is a 3 way. Someone gets DeBrincat, we get Markstrom, Calgary gets future.

I always enjoy a good old google translated article... Make it rain Brothers!

The two therefore make the rain and the good weather in the division. That said, is there a world where they could rain and sunny in the same NHL formation?

Obviously, I don't expect the transaction to happen. Unless Brady really, but really strong? But still there…
