Garroich said on TSN Ottawa will look at Korpisalo if he reaches FA which seems likely.

So That’s two names ( Perry the other) to keep an eye on during FA according to Bruce.

I’m worried about his shoulder and face offs.
He has that one timer shot which could transition to a good winger and if needed you could always swap them out ala 2008 Penguins with Staal and Malkin.
Have face-offs and shoulder injuries ever been correlated beyond Pinto and Norris? I feel like this is heavily blown out of proportion by sens fans.

I took face-offs in hockey my whole life and never did it once feel strenuous on my shoulder. Granted I never quite made the NHL...

Well that was how he hurt himself this time wasnt it?

Two things Im most nervous about this year. Norris' shoulder and Chychrun's health.

I can appreciate everything you said and for all we know it is very over blown, however, he hurt it during a face off this year.

I am hoping the surgery helped and for all we know he comes back stronger then ever, however, having that insurance policy helps and ultimately makes us stronger

Could be good, but he's also very inconsistent.

Not surprising. Remember hearing rumours we liked him previously.

Regardless of what happens I really do believe we need a mean defenceman in our midst who can play top 4 minutes. I’m screaming for Dumba because I think he’d be perfect here and could be had on the cheap. Maybe $5-5-5/year on a 2 year deal. Maybe 1 year. Just enough to get him one more big contract when the cap rises and he can look good protected by chabby/chych/sanderson/Zub

We are getting a new coach and I’d love to inject some mean into our D. People keep talking about the east being juiced but the west steamrolled the east in the final. Edmonton put up a good fight against them for a few games. Florida got rocked. I want a meaner defence if we are serious contenders.

Dumba would be insulated but could kill penalties and lay a big hit. Everyone stands 10x taller if he’s there. I’d stick him with chabby. Chych and chabby could play as a pairing but I want chabby to have a break and let the enforcing come from Dumba. Sanderson and Zub are your shutdown no nonsense pairing. But message sending yet adequate defensive play-pairing of chabby and Dumba would be grand.

Chych then is an elite defenceman playing third pairing competition. Third and fourth line opposition. He could really shine. And then you can ride the hot defenceman for the night knowing Sandy is just a dependable player. Ala neideymair.

Bring in Wheeler for PP2 and the middle 6 if he's bought out by the Jets. Would come in at less than DBC and would provide more size and play in the tougher areas.

I'm also fully in favour of finding a way to bring back EK.
I'd avoid Wheeler.

Him, Schiefele and Maurice were a part of some awful leadership in Winnipeg and I'd want to keep the captain of that situation away from our club.

I don’t think Dumba is that guy. He catches guys by surprise with big hits every once in a while but he isn’t a big guy and isn’t very intimidating. He provides little offense at this point in his career, isn’t a top penalty killer. I don’t see the value, particularly at 5.5.

I’d much rather spend probably less money on getting Gudas. He’s stronger, dirtier, much more physical and intimidating than Dumba. He also knows his role and plays it well. Ideally we’d add Gudas and a tough forward to replace Watson.

I also think he’d be a better fit with more partners than Dumba. Chabot-Dumba doesn’t sound bad, but what if we want to try Chabot-Chych or Chabot Zub (with Sandy-Chych). Then you’re left with Dumba and Brannstrom or maybe Kleven. Gudas on the other hand would also be a great fit with Chabot but he’d also be a far better fit with Brannstrom. Proving more physical presence and stability.

TBH I’d rather just bring back Hamonic at a discount than Dumba and spend the savings elsewhere.

Dumba is a legit top 4 minute eater. Go check the wild forums about him. The guy has his gaffes but he’s well worth the money over gudas or hamonic.

He’s certainly a top 4 guy. I’m not questioning that. I just don’t agree that he’s an imposing physical presence who makes players play taller or that it would be worth spending 5.5 million to acquire him.

I’m saying if we want to add those attributes to the mix there are better fits that would allow us to add those while adding at other positions.

What is Gudas going to cost? I’d say his position and handedness means his number will start with a 3. If not more close to 4. He just had a big playoff.

1-2.5M difference in a Gudas type or Dumba type I’m taking Dumba.

You can also go and get Tom Wilson as well and those two together could be huge.

The difference is if you speak with wild fans they say Dumba is good defensively. He is good in his own end and has become less of a rover and more of a stay at home.

Sure he isn’t big. But who is anymore? Who is a mean, big RHD, that could be had for $5-5.5 without giving up significant assets? Gudas? No. He’s a 5-6 who will not live up to our number.

Dumba is our guy.

5 for dumba
3 for Pinner

I always enjoy a good old google translated article... Make it rain Brothers!

The two therefore make the rain and the good weather in the division. That said, is there a world where they could rain and sunny in the same NHL formation?

Obviously, I don't expect the transaction to happen. Unless Brady really, but really strong? But still there…
Looks like something Charlie Kelly would write.

Haven't there been a few teams over hte years that used a winger for faceoff duties? It isn't that hard to take a draw, and if need be, stick to the opposing center if you lose in the defensive zone...but then just quickly transition to your wing if you win the draw.

Dumba is not an intimidating presence
We don't have more cap we can allot to D
Chych is not dropping down to the third pairing

The thought of Dumba through a playoff run is nice but that ship sailed when we targeted the better defensemen in Chychrun instead.
