Modern NHL and available Dmen I’d take him.Dumba is considered a "mean d-man"?
Tanev is an another option but his mileage isn’t good beyond this year.

Probably right.. there does not seem to be a lot of imagination beyond imagining guys like Patrick Brown will be goodAbsolutely. There are always a few guys who go for cheap in free agency that we could certainly bring to Ottawa by paying them more.
I hope we get creative with filling DeBrincat's spot on the wing. Could "take on" a guy like Garland for free, or even get Vancouver to throw in an asset to get them out of cap trouble.
But I fully expect us to just take the assets we get from DeBrincat and throw them at Philly to get Laughton.
Thanks. And don't worry, no offense taken or anything like that. I do think we mostly meet in the middle here that you just can't control what people are going to think, so don't bother as it only causes more issues. And obviously that is a slippery slope for society in a lot of ways, so agreed that's not the solution. Controlling people's thoughts is basically what I complain about religion, so I'd be a bit of a hypocrite. And yes, the nature of organized religion to me is about control more than sharing values, as evidenced by the ring of abuse and protection by the Catholic church in particular. IMO a lot of it is just old men protecting a system that allows them to gorge themselves on all that they tell everyone else is wrong, basically just keeping it for themselves over a true belief of what's right or wrong.
I say let them not wear the shirt, but if they would like to stay employed, that's where it needs to end and it can't be lobbying against the cause rather than just not participating in the advocating. If you are actively advocating against it and trying to spread those beliefs and cause misery to those affected, you're risking your livelihood imo and personally, I lose respect at that point.
I guess I just don't even know what they're opposing sometimes. It seems so simple that it's just people being true to themselves, finding happiness within a life they themselves likely didn't even want. We're all raised in the environments we are though and it's a matter of conditioning. I think it's as simple in a lot of cases as having some personal exposure to it. I thought these things were bad at one point in my life too until people I cared about opened up.
Back to hockey... as for Hellebuyck, someone here posted yesterday somewhere that he'd made it known he will only go to a US destination, so that sounds like a no go. I would love it, but the pending contract makes me nervous. I would rather Saros if available, but I'd bet we end up with a 1B type off the UFA heap.
I would so like to get Karlsson back.
Yeah, no nostalgia here either. I was actually against getting him back, until I saw him play this year. He still has some quality years left in him. I would move Chabot for him in a second. I like Chabby, I just don't see him ever being as good as 65 or Sandy. And now we have Chychrun too.Me too. Nothing to do with nostalgia either.
He'd make a massive difference running our powerplay and is the vastly superior player at even strength. Able to drive offense in a way no other D can when playing 5v5.
Would rebalance the pairings. Chychrun and Sanderson can play LD, where they are best, and Karlsson and Zub could occupy the top two RD spots, allowing us to shelter the bottom pair moreso than if Chabot, Chychrun and Sanderson all played LD.
And of course it's worth noting that Karlsson's real salary is significantly lower than his cap hit, while Chabot's real salary is significantly higher. Even with new ownership real dollars in vs. out will be a consideration, at least until we move downtown.
He was so much fun to watch...worth the price of admission.Me too. Nothing to do with nostalgia either.

Well people here talk about how hard it is to draw players to Ottawa.Me too. Nothing to do with nostalgia either.

Only hiccup with bringing the best player of our franchise back would be a possible shift in the team's dynamic.
How would Karlsson feel now that Tkachuk is the face of the franchise?
The cap is not an issue.
Who's account is that?Garrioch's buddy/burner twitter account says Karlsson would welcome a trade to Ottawa.
Guy's a clown and retweets a lot of anti trans bullshit but he is definitely tight with Bruce G
one post like this from me, and I would be suspended for 6 months. and every pin head on here would be all over me like ugly on an ape.One night of a wife swapping orgy and it'll be water under the bridge for em.
It’s not really about the salary, it’s the cap hit that makes it hard.If you did a cost benefit analysis on a Debrincat or Chabot swap with Karlsson it would be so lopsided.
Karlsson would be our best player, in a position of need, who has veteran playoff experience, and his entire style is about making his teammates better.
Not to mention he would be getting paid less than DBC/Chabot and would sell more tickets and make the team more money.

Well, I do like to push the envelope sometimes and I'll accept whatever consequences come my wayone post like this from me, and I would be suspended for 6 months. and every pin head on here would be all over me like ugly on an ape.
That's the attitude, I knew you'd buy in eventually!Fine, bring him home if he’ll be a good boy.
I’m getting more mellow as the summer closes in…. I just want nice things for the team, and players that want to play here.Well, I do like to push the envelope sometimes and I'll accept whatever consequences come my way
